Poor Italians can't keep his pace :)
What do you think about Boštjan Avbelj, winner of IRCup?
I don't know much about Avbelj, but, judging from his stage times and considering his little experience in rallying, this guy must have enormous potential.
Boštjan is nice guy and talented driver. His biggest problems are age (too old to be top driver in WRC) and mainly budget, so he is doing only few races per year. And another problem is that he is doing mainly races in Italy, so he can be fast on specific type of stages, but I am afraid on different types he can have big problems...
First event of 2023 in Italy, this coming weekend: Ronde Della Val Merula :D
Last year the rally was won by french driver Matthieu Franceschi(VW Polo R5)but he's not on entrylist for this year :(
That lets chances to Italians... :p:

By the way, Andrea Crugnola will run another season in CIR with the FPF Citroën C3 Rally2 ;)
Umberto Scandola on entrylist of Rally Terra Vallee del Tevere in a Citroën C3 Rally2
And Scandola faster than Crugnola(by small margin)on SS1 Rally Terra Valle del Tevere  :D

After Andrea Crugnola(Citroën), Giandomenico Basso(Skoda)has officially entered the 2023 CIRA(starting next month with the classic Rally del Ciocco) ;)
Rumours about Bostjan Avbelj doing CIAR in 2023 instead of ERC. Nothing official yet.
Note that this coming weekend Damiano de Tommaso is on entrylist of Rally dei Laghi with a 208 Rally4, in order to "discover" his new codriver(Sofia D'Ambrosio) ;)
Then he will drive his Skoda Rally2 in CIRA later from next month Rally del Ciocco...
Wow!! Italian 4WD champion Andrea Crugnola was driving a Citroën Saxo Kit-car(K10)at the Rally dei Laghi this weekend, and he finished 10th overall, beating by very big margin the other 2WDs(Damiano de Tommaso in his 208 Rally4 was almost 2' behind and 15th overall)
Catastrofical Ronde della Bellunese! Because of weather(lots of snow)the second pass was cancelled, and only 25 drivers finished the event(most of the rest did chose to stop) :s
Andrea Mazzocchi becomes new teammate of Andrea Crugnola at the CIR this season
He will drive a second C3 Rally2 from FPF(starting at Rally Il Ciocco Valle del Cerchio next week) ;)
After one year in Skoda, Christopher Lucchesi Jr is back in Peugeot 208 Rally4 to dispute the 2WD championship in CIR ;)
There will be a lot of drivers in CIR 2WDs this season(starting with Ciocco next week)
Unfortuneately Giando' Basso will be forfeit at Rally Ciocco next week :(
147 crews on entrylist(not published yet) CIR + CIR Pro/national
Alberto Battistolli wins Rally Città di Foligno. An interesting entry in this rally was Alessandro Bettega, son of the famous Attilio. He was second overall, but withdrew after the last stage.
Final results:

And Roberto Daprà won the 2WD in the Ford Fiesta Rally4 ;)
Impressive entrylist for Rally Il Ciocco
