The driver and co-driver had switched seats for that stage. But luckily no life-threatning injuries, only some rather small leg and back injuries.Quote:

GrN champion in 2010 is Egon Kaur. He had a lot of problems with the car during the rally. Winner in overall rankings is Margus Remmak.
2WD FWD winner was Siim Plangi (you can see him in Scotland), but Champion is Martin Kangur (he is replacing Kruuda in Spain).
It was very difficult rally with many new stages. Second day started with very thick fog causing a lot of problems for those who didn't use tripmeters.
Nice weather and huge amount of spectators

Some more nice stories about Saaremaa rally:
Egon Kaur was was really slow on the second day. The reason was rather simple. He broke the gearbox on the first stage of the day and managed to limp next 2 stages and to the service. He didnt had spareone but he managed to lend new gearbox from Kristo Kraag´s (one of the best co-drivers in Estonia) road car (normal gearbox). The mechanics managed to change the box in 20 minutes and his speed was enough to secure GrN Title.
Margus Remmak who secured overall title had a bit similar problems. The fifth gear jumped out all the time and he did the whole second day so that he was holding steering wheel with one and and gearstick with the other hand (to keep it in gear). He said that it was uite scary do drive 200km/h and hold the steeringwheel only with one hand :-P
Ok, a few nice videos for the end:

The last round of the Swedish Rally Championship (Rally SM), KMK trofén, was held in Katrineholm the past weekend.
PG Andersson won the rally in a MB Evo IX GrpN and he was in a class on his own.
full results from the last round are available here:

and final standings in Rally SM are available here:

and my two video clip compilations are available here:

both are quite low Video quality.
The coolest car of all in the rally was definitely Stig Blomqvist's brand new Audi Quattro and i really wish that modern rally cars would have the Quattro's sound.
Stig Participated only as a safety car and only on stages 1/5.

Turkish Rally Championship goes on with 'Rally of Bursa', the hometown of multiple national champion and FIA Teams Cup contender Serkan Yazıcı. The entry list is average, 37 entries in total. However, the important news is that Castrol Ford Team Turkey has brought 2nd Fiesta S2000 for Murat Bostancı, Pirelli Star Driver Eastern Europe winner. The team has two S2000 now with Yağız Avcı. Plus, another multiple national champion Ercan Kazaz will compete with a Parkur Racing run Evo X. The rally will be held this weekend...

I will deliver the news from the penultimate round of the championship, Rally of Green Bursa, but the big news is that, there has been a heavy rain at Bursa for two days now, and the conditions are terrible. So ,we 'expect' that the rally may be cancelled...

Very good time by Butor on SS2 Mecsek Allianz Rally for his first outing in S2000 :bounce:

Deserved victory for Matteo Gamba on Istra Rally. Second was Luca Cantamessa. With this result they have confirmed my arguments that top Italian drivers are also always capable to win anywhere in the Europe, they are not yust unbeatable on their home stages!!
Istra wasn't an italian region before the WW2 ? :D
Anyone knows what happened with rally leader Norbert Herzig in last stage of Mecsek?
Yes vino , Istra is a historical Croatian region which has been under foreing influence through most of its history . It has been added to Croatia ( then Yugoslavia ) after the WW2 . It was under great Italian influence ( especially between WW1 - WW2 , when fascists had a strong italianisation in there ) , and today is a part of it's culture . It's also definately the most motorsport-friendly part of Croatia . Also there is a Slovenian part of Istra ( cities Izola and Koper )
There you go , you have learnt something other than rallying in this forum :D

But who won the 2010 portuguese championship ???
Finnish national championship is sliding into a recession for the 2011 season. Many renowned drivers are going to drop out from the series. These include FWD category regulars Vesa Hirvonen (switching to rallycross) and very promising Anssi Tawast (civil life/financial aspects for reason).
Main 4WD category, SM1 is also losing some guys. Kosti Katajamäki and Marko Kakko are leaving the series. Jani Salomaa and Tommi Luostarinen are also wondering what does the series give to them and is it worth taking part.
Not looking good...
