First there are some lazy electric cars cruising around... and the TV crew is bashing them :D
And now we are waiting and waiting... it's not funny anymore.
EDIT: Crews are on stage for half an hour already but the TV stream is still stopped :(
At least nice video from shakedown with a spin of Kalle (when interviews start you can stop :) ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRlKpkwOtYs
Kopecký lost 11 seconds on SS4. Maybe a spin or something.
SS3 was dry, SS4 wet.
EDIT: Small off for Kopecký, same for Vlček and Tomek. All on the same spot.
ŠKODA Motorsport
@MotorsportSkoda
@RallyBohemia after SS 4: @KalleRovanpera so far quickest and took the lead, #Kopecký took softer rain tires, lost 10 seconds, weather conditions unpredictable #Skoda @eWRCresults @OfficialWRC
2WD leader Talaš lost over 20 seconds on SS4 too.
SS6 was nearly dry and Rovanperä was fastest again (maybe he had a bit better tyres I don't know).
Rovanpera surprised me against Kopecky! took some difference at ss6
Kopecký again very slow time on SS7. SS8 currently stopped due to an accident of one of the historical cars starting before the main field. Ambulance on the spot.
EDIT: Kopecký's time will be corrected. Shall be a timing mistake.
Never mind, strange things happen...
A lot of punctures on SS11 but the times have changed now, hard to say who lost how much...
There is some mess in times now (not only in times but also in the timetable).
Most likely Černý is leading now after the puncture plague bus his time is wrong (also of Dohnal and Vlček who also escaped the puncture).
So now the times make sense. There was some rain water pipe in a ditch which they dug out by cutting in the first run and nearly everybody made a puncture on it in the second run. Černý, Dohnal and Vlček were the only one from the top crews who avoided it. Černý is leading.
From the times in the following stage I'd say some had damaged geometry or suspension from the puncture as well. Another reason could be wrong tyres in the spare for the actual conditions on the stage.
So after first day we can expect a big battle tomorrow. Tomorrow there are two well known stages for everyone except Kalle (including the long one which will most likely decide) and one new stage for everyone. At the end there is a second run of the city stage.
1. Černý
2. Rovanperä +7,6
3. Kopecký +12,7
4. Mareš +22,0
Video SS3-SS8. You can skip the interviews in Czech of course :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL1Ku4p7fKg
The most funny thing from the interviews is that some drivers were complaining they had slicks and needed wet tyres (Dohnal, Odložilík for example) while Kopecký was complaining that he had wet tyres and needed slick :D
And a second funny thing. I don't know if you ever saw something like that. The second loop today was started 24 minutes ahead of the schedule...
Video SS9-SS13: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoM7MpSdgaM
Amazing Rovanpera! Cant remember when was last time Kopecky lost so clear in his country.
..
Now it's sunny and the roads are dry but the morning loop was still partially wet and full of crashes. Mareš, Dohnal, Pech and Trojan all went off. Only Pech was able to continue with broken suspension.
wet,dump or dry,Kalle still faster.
Looks like Kopecky had problems or gave up on the penultimate stage. Well done to Kalle, beating Kopecky at home is indeed quite an accomplishment.
Imho best performance we have seen from Kalle till now.
And the best debut of a foreign driver on Czech event in at least twenty years. Hats off!
In fact this is how it shall be. The young shall take over the old before those retire and that day comes ever closer for Jan.
Today I finally went on the stages again. Saw three of them and I am very happy about my choice of places. Also saw a few rather big crash of Tomek and helped to move the car off the road.
Congrats for Kalle and Jonne!!!
Best tarmac performance from Kalle so far... We´ll see how it goes in Germany ;)
Video SS14-SS16 with some very spectacular moments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY2FubhVjho
At 11:35 you can see the moment when Pech broke wheel. Also a scary moment for Jakeš at 9:44.
And a final video SS17-SS20: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRgO7n-TzsY
As you can see SS19 was full wet while others were dry or slightly damp (the last city stage).
Kopecký off on SS4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCOvtLPUcBg
And Vlček the same: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npNb26gc_hk
Nice video including pláče, where the most of top crews made punchure
https://youtu.be/S6UVF-tC4eI
... and me in the action removing the crashed car of Tomek :D
Pech returning to Porsche for the Rally Pačejov.
Entry list for Rally Pačejov: http://www.autosport.cz/zavody/soubor.php?f=21838
Peták changed car to Fiesta WRC.
Jimmy McRae will drive as a VIP before the historic field.
Some onboard from Bohemia appeared finally, for example:
Jakeš SS4, the place where Kopecký went off is at 1:32: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw2FqPdZOxY
Štajf SS12, very difficult stage, especially the second half: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xd9G0Nw9gU
Jakeš SS19, the longest stage with hard slick on wet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ7SCenQVPc
And another video from the rally: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUfI8pbreqA
Beautiful SS14 with Jakeš with massive big moment just after the start and another mistake near the end. This stage was back in the rally after 20 years. Just check the awesome jump at 2:58 (I was spectating in that section): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7hh8mhinv8
Dohnal easily won Rally Pačejov. Behind him Odložilík, Tarabus and surprisingly Rujbr were battling. Odložilík retired with broken suspension (Vlček with the same problem). Henning Solberg was co-driven by his wife and he was rather slow (he also made a mistake with setup and tyres for one section). Moreover he got 3 minutes penalty for being too early in TC (he said it was his mistake). Pech drove Jírovec's Porsche 997 but he wasn't able to keep with the R5 cars. In fact he was battling with top gr.N drivers not with the R5. There were many retirements and crashes therefore the final results look a bit unusual for Czech events...
Jimmy McRae drove two of his ex-cars as zero - Chevette and Manta from the collection of Jiří Jírovec. Jírovec also bought ex-Mäkinen's Evo VI from Henning.
Video from SS1-SS6 including a short onboard of Henning (note 10:23 and 11:43 the rims): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF0tNpk2Kag
1. Dohnal (Focus WRC) 42:50,4
2. Tarabus (Fabia R5) +40,1
3. Rujbr (Fabia R5) +43,6
4. Trněný (Fiesta R5) +1:54,8
5. Pech (Porsche 997 GT3) +2:50,9
6. Šimek (Evo IX gr.N) +3:08,4
7. Šikl (Evo IX gr.N) +3:19,7
8. Pokorný (Fabia R5) +4:19,6
9. Březík jr. (208 R2) +4:20,8
10. Nešpor (Porsche 997 GT3) +4:47,4
12. Solberg (Fiesta R5) +4:57,7 (3 minutes penalty)
This time I could not go therefore I only give info which was posted on the internet. I really like this event but my friend had a wedding yesterday :)
Video from the last section: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHnvRyCmFy0
You can hear in the video Henning saying that the Pech's Fiesta is one of the best set-up asphalt cars he has ever driven.
By the way this rally may replace Příbram in next years main championshpip.
What is Pech saying when asked about comparison between R5 cars and Porsche 911?
