Very good start for Ott Tänäk andFiesta S200. Leading by 6.3 sec after SS2.
Juha Salo second and I believe that he takes ´all out´ from his Evo X.
Jarkko Miettinen with Fabia S2000 3rd just 0.6 sec after Salo.

Entry list and results about Baranya Kupa Rally??
Tänak still in the lead at Finnish Finnsco rally. After SS7 he's 12,3s ahead of Salo (Evo X) and 23,0s ahead of Miettinen (Fabia S2000). Miettinen has a hold of second place in the championship, though there's still a lot of kilometres ahead. Miettinen, Joonas Lindroos (Impreza WRX) and Kosti Katajamäki (Evo X) started the event all in level at the standings, so this rally decides the second place (Salo already the champion). Lindroos is now 15,7s down on Miettinen and Katajamäki 1,3s down on Lindroos. Four more stages to run today and five stages tomorrow.
Raimund Baumschlager won also the sixt round of the Austrian championship this year - the ARBÖ Rallye Steiermark - in his Skoda Fabia S2000. It was a close fight with Beppo Harrach (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) all day.
Final results:
1. Baumschlager /Zeltner (Skoda Fabia S 2000) 1:23:12,0
2. Harrach / Schindelbacher (Mitsubishi Evo IX) +1,8
3. Waldherr / Ettel (VW Polo S 2000) +1:03.8
4. Saibel / Mayrhofer (Mitsubishi Evo X) +2:30,2
5. Sonnleitner / Müller (Mitsubishi Evo IX) +4:09,5
Manfred Stohl had a big accident on stage eight. He escaped uninjured but Ilka Minor suffered a broken thoracic vertebra and will be forced to pause.

Top three in the championship is Salo (Mitsubishi), Katajamäki (Mitsubishi) and Lindroos (Subaru). Esapekka Lappi won the SM2 class. Top three in this category is Kalle Pinomäki (Renault), Esapekka Lappi (Honda) and Jukka Korhonen (Honda).

This event was Kosti Katajamäki´s last rally. He will retire from active competition, but may compete some smaller events sometimes, but not any series anymore...
Kosti´s statistics:
http://gamma.nic.fi/~globe1/rally/pa...maki_kosti.htm
Too bad luck for Lindroos then, though 3rd in the series with one event victory was good for first season in 4wd. Also surprised to hear about Kosti's retirement, though it is understandable to a degree. He has been quite unlucky all season. It still is one less driver in a series that's already struggling for competition.Quote:

Didn't know that rally paradise still works..

Jouni Lampinen will quit his 25 years long career in rallying which means his long-term driver Joonas Lindroos is in need of new co-driver.
Teemu, do You know what exactly happened to Tänak and Miettinen?
I wasn't there, but reading from the bulletins Tänak's story is a bit weird. He was leading after SS5, but then on SS6 he went off. And if I understand the big picture right, while he was off the stage was cancelled because of an accident further into the stage. Tänak got back on the road, but was stopped at the other accident place and showed to the reroute for next stage. Later for SS6, rally officials gave Tänak a provisional time (fastest time) + 10 minute penalty "based on his performance on SS6". That's quite unclear, though fair to a degree if he'd been off the road for a long time (I don't know how long). Other drivers were given a time based on their avarage performance on SS1-5. Hmm... And if I understood right, Tänak didn't finish the last stage of Saturday. Tänak choosed not to continue on Sunday stages due to lots of time penalties. Car was okey.Quote:

Thanks
Well, From Estonian news I red that he spun and got stuck with the back end of the car. He got going again. But on the same stage Mika Hirvikangas went off and drag down some power-lines. The officials decided to cancel the stage and divert the drivers still on the stage to alternative route, including Tänak. The story about time-penalty was the same.Quote:

Okey. Thanks for the clearance. All in all, rather weird situation.Quote:

Another success for Skoda: Alberto Hevia is already spanish champion with two rounds to go yet. It´s the first time Skoda gets such a success in spanish rallying :)
Alberto Hevia (Skoda) won Rally de Llanes and he's new Spanish Champion. García Ojeda (also Skoda) was second while Fuster (911 GT3) was third.Quote:

Missed the story earlier this year but why was Vallejo dismissed from the Ford team? I though he would have been a good bet for the championship at the start of the season...
To booring car for him after few very successful years rallying with Porsche 911 GT3..... :down:Quote:
