We really need someone like Spark, Minichamps or IXO just to take a gamble and make a whole set of 1:43 BTCC cars. If they made the right ones I'm sure they'd sell enough.

Considering if they're the only guys around, they should do well? OTOH, if they do well one year, the next year, the other guys may produce their own set?Quote:

Agreed. Spark did a really good job with the RAC BMW, I'm sure they'd sell plenty of them if they were to be produced for commercial markets.Quote:

Excellent news if it happens. I will also have to replace my exisiting poorly built Motopro model. I expect it will the later version of the car complete with all the sponsers. I may still keep the Motorpro one and scape off most the the decals the have the earlier version with few sponsers, shouldn't be too difficult as they were never put on properly anyway!!!Quote:

Does anyone know how many they actually made?
I was told 200. Whether that was altogether, 100 of each driver or 200 of each driver, I can't remember.
They were only available to RAC employees and Team RAC members, drivers, friends and families, so I'm not sure if you'd ever see any turn up on eBay, as they are quite a special momento to have.
Autoart have announced they are making 1/18 scale versions of Rickard Rydell's 1994 and 1995 BTCC Volvos. The estate from 1994 sounds especially interesting! The price seems a bit steep, but I guess they may be available for less elsewhere once they are released. They don't appear to be on Autoart's own website yet.

(I'm not suggesting whether people should buy them from here or not, it was just the easiest place to link to at the time!)
Too many models have been announced recently - my pre-order list is getting very expensive!!!

Pics here from the recent Nuremburg Toy Fair. Some tourers amongst the other models to look out for.
I see that Minichamps will be releasing a 1990 Rob Gravett BTCC Sierra.

How about this for an overpriced model!

Just had an email reply from Oxford Diecast regarding the Vectra model. They said it should be available to order 'April Time', they haven't said a price yet.Quote:

I wouldn't be surprised if it was even cheaper. Their other models are normally under £10.
Well, somebody made a lot of money on ebay last night didn't they? An entire collection up for sale, most of them MotorPro and Racing Replicas models. I watched a few of the auctions, but they went for silly money. Guess I'll never get that 1994 Cleland Cavalier.
He sure did! Luckily won the Nutall and Smith Cavaliers, to finish my Cavalier Collection. Was frantic bidding as he had alot of the cars ending at the same time. Did see KILOHMUNNS and daz90 bidding too. The Motorpro Sierra's went for crazy money, esp the Gravett one seeing as it will be released by Minichamps soon! What did the 1994 Cavalier go for?Quote:

I saw that DAZ90 finally got the 89 Rouse Sierra he's wanted for a while.
The guy who sold them is a nice bloke and as I've had quite a few dealings with him in the past and we've done a few swaps. He's decided to concentrate just on his Rally collection. It was good so see how much people were willing to pay as I've got most of the models he was selling (plus lots more), gives a good idea how much the collections worth.
May have to insure them seperately from the household insurance can anyone recommend any specialist companys?
I think it went for £53 or thereabouts. The same as one went for a few weeks ago actually. I've more or less given up with it now. Think I was lucky to get the 1993 car for £39 a couple of years back.Quote:

Isn't it a minimum of £50 reserve on ebay now?

I did buy one of the models, the Rouse Sierra. Although i bid on a few and lost out. Gutted about the motorpro Sapphire, and i really wanted the 94 Tarquini Alfa, but that was too high for me to even bid on.
Thanks for the heads up with the Cavaliers. Had a parcel today with the 1992 Cleland, Leslie and 1993 Leslie Cavaliers. Quite impressed with the detail of a resin model. Gutted I missed the 95 Cleland car.Quote:

There is another 89 Rouse Sierra on eBay at the minute, not under the btcc search, but just search for Sierra and you will find it. You might also find i am curretly bidding on it, but thats a mistake, i got a rush of blood and bid on it, forgetting i allready own one.
I see that the 2007 Vectra has been delayed until next month.
And they are also releasing 'New Vauxhall Vectra BTCC 2008 winning car - 1:43rd Scale'.
http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/new%20tooling.htm
Don't think there will be many BTCC cars... BUT, Trax are selling all there cars in stock at HALF PRICE until April 30!
http://www.trax-models.co.uk/Trax/Pa...e%20Offer.html
I got the Soper/Rouse Ford Sierra Cosworth BTCC 1988 2-car set half price, which was pretty good, £27.
There's a lot of stuff on there I'd be interested in...F1, WTCC, DTM, le mans, FIA/GT......but if I got into it I iknow it would start to get very expensive and I would very soon run out of space. Going to have to bite my tongue for the minute.......
Just seen on Grand Prix Legends that the Giovanardi car is ready to pre-order, only £14.99, a bargain!Quote:

And we've got the 1994 GM Card Vauxhall Cavalier at last. Woohoo! :D
A rare model was sold tonight, the 1994 RML-built Opel Vectra/Vauxhall Cavalier ran by HKS of Anthony Reid in the Asia-Pacific series.
Thanks for that - I've pre-order mine.Quote:

And at the bottom of this page you might see that they plan on producing Andy Priaulx's WTCC car and Colin Turkington's Team RAC BMW.

I know that Scalextric are a different scale to most other cars but the detail is very good especially if you're not too bothered about the scale.
The JP SEAT looks good, but it appears to be out of stock.
