Also the speed is too high on this years version. They have to change a lot in the future.
It’s not that bad for Tänak at all actually
It’s the first bad rally of the season for
Him, I’m sure Evans will also have one almost zero rally or low score one.
Yeah he will leave about -20 points to Evans after this rally but that means again better starting position for the next two rallies before two tarmac rounds
In the last few seasons only Kalle dominated while opening the roads on "gravel season" and he was purely dominating on few occasions (specially in the season where he won the 2nd title if I recall correctly..). Also it shows how great Thierry did last year protecting that 1st place championship wise through the whole season and with bunch of fast part timers on gravel (Ogier, Kalle, Lappi) who benefited alot. Obviously Evans failed to do it even with bigger point advantage this season so far.
Funnily enough, Tänak would‘ve been lead Hyundai after this stage without the 5m penalty…
Keeping in mind about tarmac rounds, I would watch towards Rovanperä as the main title contender, but now everything is changed - Evans and Ogier both gained quite many extra points.
Tänak also with a puncture. The lottery mode is on now.
Puncture for Ott as well, luckily closer to finish of the stage
How many spare tires they carry? If Neuville or Fourmaux gets a new puncture, do they have a tire to leap to the service?
Does any wise man can confirm that this Ott's tyre can be inflated again on road and used on road section? That was not damaged, just off the rim.
Tyre also looking weird for Josh
Last hope for Hyundai seems to be either punctures or the fact that Rovanperä, Evans & Ogier will have to slug it out for Sunday points over two passes of Ouninpohja tomorrow.
Tänak actually lost quite a bit in the end. Even Sesks took 2 second back and Josh also a bit
Great stage from Tänak considering his starting position
Rovanperä is clearly fastest. I expected him to back off a bit.
Is there an issue about teamwarnings over radio before start, or did I misunderstand the talk from Becs and Co?
WHere’s the hurry for Kalle and Neuville?
What a stupid question to Neuville about his career...
Linnamäe messed something during last split.
Did not understand was the stage end comment "we are out" or "we were out"
edit 1: heard from rally radio: "Linnamäe lost right rear wheel completely"
edit 2: https://x.com/OfficialWRC/status/1951666427288539508
JML slower as Korhonen, so opening the gap just a little bit more
Classic Linnamäe, never manages to finish properly
Provisional standings, SS15 > SS16
* Evans: 169 > 173
* Rovanperä: 163 > 163
* Tänak: 162 > 162
* Ogier: 151 > 156
* Neuville: 131 > 122
Someone made Taka angry again? Evans and Ogier are pushing on the limit but Taka is faster.
I finish the long rally-slavery day for today, see you tomorrow.
Unbelievable that no one hasn’t binned it considering the last two years but then again the itinerary is almost the same
Real bad luck for the Hyundai boys, both Neuville and Fourmaux had been great.
Evans had been good today, really doing well against guys behind him on the road, I think others have said, easily his most convincing day on gravel this season.
I wish we had a fight, but I do really hope that Rovanpera closes this one out and takes his home win.
Pajari a little bit of a disappointment, this was a day he could have pushed on.
So Toyota with places 12345 and still they wont have any team orders.
Evans will be glad to have his 15s lead over Pajari or he could end up just 5th place with 4 teammates ahead of him !
A Hyundai disaster today but still Sunday points for Neuville and Fourmaux to fight for. Tanak will be happy if he ends up not dropping a big points score to his rival, if Evans cant beat his colleagues.
If conditions allow it, I imagine Neuville and Tanak flat out and taking risks tomorrow for Sunday points. But Taka, Ogier and Evans also are in the fight for 2nd, so they won't take it easy.
I hope Kalle will finally get his first Finland win.
Fourmaux said he and Neuville both got their punctures on the same corner.
Unbeliveable unluck for both Fourmaux and Neuville this year.. They almost always have the speed
