Big shout-out to our mechanics again who did a great job. We are happy to announce that @JariMattiWRC and @MiikkaAnttila will restart tomorrow under Rally 2 regulations. ⚙️
Crazy crazy day... has there ever been more retirements, punctures, incidents and leaderboard changes in one day ???
Glad I paid for WRC+ now. :D
Well some things they spot right away, but the amount of mistakes where they "overlook" extremely obvious things is incredible.
Appart from missing half of the stopped cars here they also watched Mikkelsens first 30s in stage where he was breaking 50 meters ahead of the usual spot on every corner and didn't use handbrake or go sideways on 2 (almost) hairpins and declared his powersteering was fine.
Yeah but imagine following all that happened just with radio...
Meeke puncture running in highway. No spare tyres to SSS?
please Neuville, don't do a remake of Sweden 2017 in the SSS... (although i secretly hope he screw up again as Ogier is off)
Tell someone to Jon that capital of Portugal is Lisbon, not Porto.
So Suninen and Ostberg are now like 26 minutes behind? Is that the definitive time they get?
I hate the doughnuts on the SS stage.
I hate the whole concept of the SS stages full stop.
“Bring it to the people, let them see rallying up close”
Absolute BS.... give them no choice but to go see it in the forests and be blown away by what these guys do. Watching it go past on a narrow cobbled street doesn’t convey the sport in its true light at all.
I just can’t see the benefit.
btw, I think the rock Tanak hit was avoidable. Just bad judgment I guess.
Neuville & Sordo are on "slicks". They should be quick:D
Tanak also lost damper oil in Argentina and I think Latvala did at some point before.
sss are not for the rally fans. they are for people who want to go out on friday evening, drink some beer, and see cars passing by while they get drunk. its not about being blown away, its about socializing.
sss are a good idea, since they attract lots of people who otherwise wouldn't even consider watching rally. people who perhaps even wouldn't know there's a rally going on.
The Hyundais on soft "slicks" gain more time on these two stages than on 3 gravel stages during the whole afternoon.
After stage 6 Suninen and Evans had same overall time, so Suninen should be very high now...
Wow what a loss the others have to neuville
whybthw hell is Desbrough introducing Sordo as ‘Hollywood’??
What a complete cock.
How far into the road section can Meeke go before they have to put the tyre on though? Since you can't work on the car in the TC section right.
Looks like Østberg and Suninen got Lappi's time. Which imo is fair considering Evans did very good time in that stage and they avoided possible time loss due to punctures or tirewear.
Suninen should be third after the day?
