It was our second time in Czech. And we were really happy to be there. Very nice atmosphere, tasty food, good weather.
We've made some efforts with car setup, so it was much much better than previous year. It is hard to find specs for Czech tarmac, at least we can joke that it feels like home :)
And of course competition with Kopetsky was extremely interesting.
Sorry for the mistake at last stage, but still we are happy that we were able to keep the pace during the event
I was so gutted when that happened, you both were outstanding from start to finish, on it on every stage, spectacular but not too crazy (in comparison with Ypres, that was over the limit I think :D). Like here ( https://www.facebook.com/TACrally/vi...6495155762958/ )on this fast section you probably won one second on the whole competition just by pushing the pedal to the metal! It's crazy to see the progression of Alexey after 6-7 asphalt events, he was definetaly on par with Kopecky, master of Barum with the best car, a factory one developed on such stages. Hats off!
I hope you won't give up for the title and next year come back especially to Ypres my home event! That was sadly a very short event for you two, I hope you didn't regret it to come here, it's an event that Luky would be great too. Maybe a bit too comitted in his first try!? or what do you think?
Big fan of yours, the great onboards, the spirit of Luky, his driving style and the emotions of him and his funny dry comments when he gets interviewed. Rallying needs someone like him! You would think I've some sort of mancrush on him :D
Thank You. You did an awesome job with the setup. I can say that from my observation Your car worked better over the bumps and rough surface than the car of Jan Kopecký. The last stage was kind of WTF moment for us as we were waiting in the last fast corner of the rally for You and Jan. Shit happens. Anyway thanks for the great show and excitement!
As for Ypres, Lucas was actually ill, so he was somewhat distracted and we missed that corner.
This event, almost everything was perfect. there were some minor mistakes. very bad on ss-6, we could finish the rally in the ditch at the beginning of the stage, as it apperead to be extremely slippery (unlike the first run), and some issues on day2, quite frightening as in this onboard ;) but still, the pace was good, we've dropped the speed a bit to be more sure in the tough places on the second run. obviuosly we were able to gain that 4,6sec even without taking huge risks.
at least we tried.
yeap! for sure, but as we have mention for Barum its a bit different for this kind of asphalt, against factory crew and car with no limits at testing/budget.
Except that everybody was waiting to be fast at flat gravel rallies as you prooved, but at Barum,no i didnt waiting to fight with Jan at this level.
Big progress for both of You,hope to keep competing and surprise us positively.
btw i am the guy i was mentioned the size of your ''balls'' sitting next to Lucas at last years Acropolis at service park.http://www.motorsportforums.com/imag...es/biggrin.gif
@Lehus Btw, I was the only one having you and Luky on 1st place in Pickems before Barum... ;)
Gutted when steering broke. Hope to see you guys in top car and on top level in the future.

Best wishes for Lukyanuk and Arnautov rally future. They’re one of the most charismatic crews on the rally scene and WRC teams should take them in. It’d be great for the series.
In some countries those kind of investments have some sort of tax return so many companies gladly invest on these projects, however in this day and age that is not so common anymore and who can blame them, everyone is so heavily taxed on their hard earned money so its easy to understand why that is not popular now.
Video from the historic event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCbYNwTeZgI
9:24 is an accident of probably the best historic driver present in that event - Jan Krejča - on the famous Semetín crest.

Some monsters from the city stage :p

First is Tatra/Nexter Titus MRAP, second is Tatra Jamal from Dakar Bonver Team.
Crash of Tarabus: http://www.mediasport.cz/rally/ceske...ardy/9641.html
The name and number of the stage is wrong in the video. It shall be SS13 Kašava.
I watch rallyes on the road for almost 30 year now and the biggest crash I have seen so far was one involving Tarabus. Back in 2009 during the shakedown of Rallye Portugal he roll several times the Punto S2000 and I´ll never forget seeing a fallen wheel 2/3 meters from me.
Actually he is no crash driver. He crashed only several times and he managed to stay without crash for several years at the start of his career. Sometimes his accidents were also mistakes of his co-driver (not this time). Trunkát is a businessman who pays everything. He learned a lot but he made some mistakes as well (for example this year in Ireland).
Even during city stage recce on Thursday night. I saw the Titus from the window of Canada pub where we were sitting with Tommeke, Mousti, Gianni123 and other friends :)
By the way there are anatomic Recaro seats inside the MRAP so it's like a race car (with the weight of a ship) :D
He didn't crash in Estonia. He hit a huge rock which was in the driving line of the QS and pierced the radiator. It's well documented. In Ireland it wasn't his mistake either but a mistake of co-driver.
They were so close before Luky's accident!
I have to say I think Kopecky still would have taken the stage as there were some very wide and fast roads in the second half of the stage which would suit Jan and the Fabia perfectly, but I still applaud the two Alexys for trying!
ERC have uploaded a few more onboards of Luky and Kopecky this week in case anyone missed it:
https://www.youtube.com/user/FIAERC/videos
Nice that ERC puts there also some basic telemetry data.
At the same steep uphill section off SS4 Hošťálková top speed Lukyanuk 181 km/h, Kopecký 184 km/h.
Kopecký on SS14 downhill 198 km/h.
