from what can see till now,i cant imagine how this drove the strut through the bonnet.
Maybe a previous hard impact?

Maybe the strut came through the bonnet after the car rolled 10 times... maybe.
Didn't the same thing happen to Mikkelsen before a Watersplash?
Just watch the video's!!!

He hit something quite hard the first time through as well around 11:05
From the helicam all i can see is that latvala lost the car after the small bump and to save it made a huge cut to the left hand side where he hit something causing the car to roll...
just saw the onboard... he hit a rock as usual.

Your English is great Dim but this one is confusing at times. Of course my Greek (apart from Metaxa) is non-existent!
But I agree with your point and how the hell did the hards get on Ostberg's wheels in the first place -fairies?
An unfortunate accident for Latvala this time. Kind of Meeke's style, maybe because Kris wasn't there... :)
In my opinion the strut had to be damaged from some other incident which we don't see in this video. Otherwise it shall not collapse. That's for sure.
i see tha impact at ,24 sec but cant see any rock at road line. Also car isnt at the edge of the road.
At this incar video, but with no comments(at previous posts) you can clearly listen the big hit and after the strut through the bonnet, but you cant see any rock at road.
latvala just took a cut where he shouldn't have cut, thats why his strut broke and those of other drivers didn't.
on the heli-view you can see that he's driving next to the regular line.
There is a decent bump and bang as Paddon drives over the same piece of exposed rock on the line, but no damage. I watched Mikkelsen's onboard and didn't see it at all, it might not have been exposed until after a few cars had been through (or maybe I blinked at the wrong moment). One of the advantages of running first on the road for Ogier, smoother roads with less exposed rock to damage his car and tyres.
It could be that the top mount was already damaged from an earlier impact as Mirek suggests, or there could have just been an weakness in that part of the car which was revealed by that particular impact. We've seen similar top mount failures from the VWs on rough rallies before haven't we, Mikkelsen last year?
Here it is just a moment later:

Ostberg has some engineissues for whole rally that does he hasn't maximum power. He also got "teamorder" that not to talk about it in the intervjues, that explain his weird statements at the stageendintervjus.
He is not next WDC, but not this slow eighter.

Last day of @rallyargentina ! Service is done and we are going now to SS16 "El Condor". The aim is the 6th position!
so, are wo going to see some drama today or not? i hope not. If Ogier takes 10 secs out of Paddon with first stage (which i doubt is impossible) then everything is open.
Any link for power stage?

Tanak has been brave!
Sun 09:24 - SS16: Tanak
He's through in 13m50.6s. "The last four or five kilometres are clear but at the beginning all I could see was the bonnet."
Sun 09:20 - Spectator update
Police estimate there are 65,000 spectators in El Condor
65k spectators in a single 12km stage is a huge number!! Hope everything will be allright with all this fog.
Sun 09:34 - SS16: Ostberg
He stopped at the 6.3km point. Moving again.
Judging from the times tanak got a relative clear run in the foggy part.
All credit, this footage is excellent; no pointless interviews, lots of mixed onboards and heli shots, great stage......
Maybe they'll put those in the later one, but thoroughly enjoying this.
Mads Østberg @MadsOstberg
SS16 - 14.45.1 We were off the road. A misunderstanding inside the car. Had some good assistance from the spectators. Probably lost a minute.
first victory for Dmack tires?
similar pace by Paddon and Ogier on split 1.
Mikkelsen had a spin,Osberg an off.Spectators helped him inside the road.
Great for DMack - congrats ! :)
22.4 the new gap...
