Guy Wilks MINI for Lydden Hill:

The people who designed the web page of Rx are a bunch of autism cases... where can i see heat results for Saturday ??
And someone has to do something about the points system of that pathetic competition...
why humanity is such a disappointment ?
Decent debut for Wilks on Saturday:

'It was a promising RX debut for fellow Briton Guy Wilks who is piloting a MINI RX Supercar with JRM Racing this weekend. The 34-year-old took a race win in heat two and sits 12th overall going into day two. “I’m really pleased with how today has gone – it’s all about learning for me this weekend and I saw a big difference with times on that second heat. Tonight we will make some adjustments to the brakes but right now everything feels really good,” said Wilks. '
"I'm coming into this completely green and i know it's a massive steep learning curve," said Wilks. "But I'm determined to fight for every inch of the track and do the best job I can for JRM Racing in front of the British fans." Wilks currently holds 12th place and as such qualified for the semi-finals. '

Works for me too, lucky break. Usually its blocked in the Netherlands. Lets hope it last for about 15 minutes :D
yeah, whatever, may be it's blocked here.
edit: at least the live timing works, so I'm watching in numbers:D
Shame... Wilks puncture :(
go Ekstrom, go S1:D
eh, so close
Another win for solberg... lets hate on him for dominating... its fun.
Nice race!
Nice close race this time but Petter still has the edge...

For Wilks to get to the final in a 1600 is very impressive, even more so when you see how much understeer the thing had. I was amazed at just how much difficulty he had turning into the corners, it always wanted to push on. Can't hate Solberg for dominating, he's just a cut above the other guys at the minute. Some great drives though and it was a really great weekend apart from the weather.
There were a few downsides though, some to do with the RX circus and some that may be down to Lydden. The main one was a lack of anyone organising the car parking, either on the way in or on the way out, so that it was a real bun fight and stacked up for far longer than it needed to be. A complete lack of any area to look at results too, even the website was hard to find anything other than live timings (which meant it only showed the most recent race). As we were camping we had quite a bit of time to kill on Saturday evening and it would have been good to have a noticeboard so that we actually knew what happened (there may actually have been a board, but we walked the paddock a good 5 or 6 times over the weekend and never saw anything, it certainly wasn't clear). There was also a small bar set up and some singers on the Saturday night, it wasn't exactly an extravaganza but again it didn't seem to have been mentioned during the day or plugged at all, so you only really came across it because you were trying to see what the noise was. Although to be honest it didn't seem like the commentators had that much information either, at times they didn't even know what race was coming up next. I appreciate that things may have been shuffled to suit TV, but it would've been good to let people know.
Can't wait for next year though, as far as good value entertainment from motorsport goes it's right at the top of the list. Currently going through my pictures and deleting all the crappy ones, hopefully I'll have at least one or two to share when I'm done!
Lydden is a tiny venue and that was one of the biggest crowds they have had there for some time. There did at least to be some order to the way they were letting people leave. I was parked on the paddock side and there was a 90 minute wait before the queue even started moving: I just grabbed another cup of tea and walked round the paddock!Quote:

...will start on my Lydden Hill pictures tonight!
That's actually what caused us the issue, if we hadn't walked around we'd probably have made it out easier. We were at the top of the camping field and decided (following getting stuck in the queue last year) that we would be better off watching the presentations and then having a stroll. After that we made our way back to the van and decided to exit through the paddock (one of the marshals had said that it was possible), at which point we got well and truly stuck. If we'd actually just hopped straight in the van then we'd probably have been out the gate before many people got to their cars.
I really can't understand the people that were leaving during the semi-finals though, I'd rather wait in 2 hours of traffic than miss out on the racing!
Photos nothing in comparison to yours (not helped by me only shooting on Saturday morning during practice...at which point it was all cloudy). Still doing the organising/editing phase but reasonably happy with this one, just a shame about the dust kicked up by the car in front

Ah, damn, that was unlucky. I could at least see a sequence in what they were doing with the car parks: pity we were at the end of the sequence!
My mate are I were saying the same thing! The finals are the best bit of the day, seemed crazy to leave before they were done!
I haven't really looked at my Lydden shots yet, so don't be sure you haven't bettered me! Nice shot, the dust can be a real pain on the exit of Chessons, once the first car has passed through the rest of the cars are often obscured.
Nice to see the cover of MN this week giving the World RX the headline ahead of WRC & F1 !! :D

Can anybody clarify the level of support that Ford is giving Olesberg, Volkswagen is giving Marklund Motorsport and Peugeot is giving Team Hansen? Are they all factory teams?
Yeah, spot on. Marklund have been given access to information (and I believe parts) from the VW WRC program, hence why those cars were vastly improved last season. EKS are sponsored by Audi, but they are not officially a factory team.
The Kristoffersson Motorsport Polos are backed by VW Sweden, so again there is a factory connection there, but they are not an official works team. I heard rumours last year that Citroen were going to officially back PSRX but that doesn't seem to have happened.
M-Sport are arguably the closest thing to a "works" Ford rallycross team, but they aren't running any cars in the World Championship this year.

I'd like to see Andretti's Beetle in WRX..
""I heard rumours last year that Citroen were going to officially back PSRX but that doesn't seem to have happened""
They pulled the plug not long before the series started as far as I know, so no factory support.
If they ditch WTCC for 2016, maybe RX support?
As far as I know the PSA support went to Hansen Peugeot not PSRX, - judging by this years results it looked like PSA backed the wrong team and car :-)
Interesting to see Yves Matton congratulating Petter on Twitter on every result though, as you say maybe next year........unless Citroen money goes to FE.
I know you guys are more fans of the WorldRX series but here some updates about RedBull GRC and the ScandinavianRX series.
Here you can watch the season opener from the GRC series in Ft. Lauderdale. It was a terrible track but I just enjoy watching RX cars racing anyway.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtOjmqA8kPk
you can also watch the XGames Final. Great track, great racing.
Liam Doram and Andreas Bakkerud raced there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hmji6YR7vFk
Now watch the SuperCar final from the Scandinavian (Nordic?) RX season opener too!
Here its easy to find OMSE cars, VW Sweden, Per Eklund, Hansen-Peugeots and all the other Swedish teams from World RX. Next race is this weekend
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI2dvwEiz3s
spectator attendance is pretty disappointing in all of the above events.
Agree.
Thought XGames would have crowds like last years but they were more focused on Bikes and Skates.
Ft. Lauderdale was a terrible event too. IDK whats happening to GRC
In case no one has noticed, GRC cancelled the Seattle (at the Dirt Fish rally school) race without any announc for the fans or even the TRACK itself. Seems like Dirt Fish has some bills to pay and werent able to secure the GRC deal. But they were informed by some customer, not the board.
Also theres some weird things happening in Andreas Eriksson's brain in US.
-First he confirmed Mitchell DeJong in one of the OMSE Ford cars then he changed the contract. Mitchell jumped out cuz it would be some BAD DEAL. Now He cant drive in GRC due something that has not being explained for the fans!
-Then he (Andreas) demanded GRC champ Joni WIman to come to the track for the first race but he was sick at a hospital!
-Then he got suspended from 2 races for talking sh*t about GRC board.
-And its no secret guys like Block and Deegan dont like Andreas cuz he kinda "Dont like Americans"
-Now he moved out from east coast to west coast and is planning to build a propper rallyX track in US for both WorldRX and GRC... AND MAYBE a Nascar team under Tim Cindric's orientation (?????rumor ???)
...Jag talar inte svenska men Andreas är en konstig kille! =P
