The hospitality areas were informed before the season start to make sure that certain drivers only get drinks in thin plastic. We may be drunkards but we aren't fools. :DQuote:

Liger* 663
All Eggs in a German Basket* 662
Spitze Gurke Racing* 654
I was going by this, which is what we had after Singapore. :confused:Quote:

Dammmit. I will have to recalculate and see where I made the mistake.
I need to start keeping a spreadsheet tab after every race so I can compare the overall standings so things like this do not happen.
VAUXHALL ASTRA F1 TEAM STATEMENT
Here is the Vauxhall Astra F1 Team reporting on the goings on of another mediocre race in our mediocre season.
We will NEVER GIVE UP in the all-important fight for 37th in the championship, which we continue to hold despite an alarming reduction of the gap to the 4 teams behind in Korea.
Our only targets are to finish in the top 40 at season's end, even though one of the closely matched 5 teams are going to miss out on this when the music stops. We are banging our fists on the table and declaring IT WON'T BE US!
Should we fail though, the only possible consolation will be beating the Aki Racing Team (and failing even that, HennersF1), which we will be on course to do if Esteban Gutierrez continues to finish ahead of Valtteri Bottas, as usual, and as he did once again easily last weekend.
We would rather like to see some improved performance from Sergio Perez. It would be nice if he could possibly score even a few top 8 finishes before the season's out. In short, we are not happy with his lack of results this year: He has gotten involved in too many incidents costing us points. He seems to have shown no consideration of how important it is for VAF1 to beat our rivals in FGP. If we fail to meet our stated targets at the end of the season, we very well know who will be getting the chop for it. :angryfire
In some exciting news, we announce a major deal for next season with immediate effect - our team boss rjbetty has completed negotiations and acquired a Renault Laguna road car to replace his Vauxhall Astra, which in the words of more than one garage mechanic, has frankly, "had it". As such, we request to series promoter N.Jones that we change our name to Renault Laguna F1.
Better?????????

Nope. Now my points are wrong.
Should be in the top 10.
Certain race scores also appear to be wrong?
Italian GP for instance... 15 + 12 + 4 = 31 not 29.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
N. Jones I sent you a PM did you get it?
It is going to take me some time to fix this as I have to get data validation, vlookup, and named ranges working again so that I can let the spreadsheet calculate the points instead of me doing it manually.
A HA! I have finally fixed my spreadsheet! NOW we will get rid of the demons of miscalculation!
(You know, with all of the times I goofed up the points, why didn't I think to pad my total? THERE'S AN HONEST MAN, JIM!)
Oh. My. God.
Are you ok N. Jones? You kind of left us hanging there. Sounds like you fell out of your chair or something. :p
I F***** Up, and I F***** Badly.
I have fixed my calculations for all Grand Prix's and the overall standings.
I don't what else to say but go have a look at the correct standings for each race:

VAUXHALL ASTRA F1 TEAM STATEMENT - JAPANESE GP
After an even worse than usual week in this frankly, forgettable year, which has been totally bereft of highlights (our best finishes have been 13th at Monza and 18th in China...), we bring news on the recent Japanese GP.
We entered the season with a bold gamble on McLaren and Sauber having amazing seasons. Wouldn't you just know that both outfits would promptly go on to have just about their worst years ever...
Our revised and modest targets were simply to finish in the top 40 (of 46) at seasons' end, and beat a certain team or 2 in particular. Therefore we could only look on in dismay as the corrected results were published - revealing us to fail even those lowly objectives. To make matters worse, we were mocked by our closest rivals to boot.
However, we have the last laugh as our 2nd driver Esteban Gutierrez came a timely 7th on Sunday to finally bank his first points. This has caused our team to score a relatively competitive 34th (sighs - I just want this season to end already...). This brings us back up to equal 39th just a few pts behind Aki Racing Team - though we have both been overtaken by LOTUS NOT LOTUS RACING.
While out front, there is not much of a fight, our team is engaged in an almighty 6 way scrap between 37th-42nd, covered by just 7pts!
Unlike a few days ago, we have reason to hope: We now have a 2nd driver who has proven himself able to score points - unlike some other teams. And there is no reason why he should now not be in with a chance of doing so at every remaining race. Also, we are sure that Checo Perez, nearing the end of the season and knowing he needs to secure his drive, will start performing more strongly than he did at the start. We need him to start outscoring Button, which if he does, will give us the best chance of achieving our objectives. We are confident Perez will perform because if he doesn't, we know who will be getting the chop.
2014 NEWS
We recently realised we had no plans at all for 2014, so we have been moving behind the scenes to correct this. We make a major announcement that we will be running with Renault power in 2014, in conjunction with the fact that team boss rjbetty now has a Renault Laguna with Turbodiesel engine, in time for the new regulations. Sergio Perez will not be part of our 2014 plans unless he pulls his socks in an upwardly direction.
I love these!
Bed Rules Racing movin on up! :smokin:
POS F1 will no longer have HP, or any company, sponsor them next season due to the horrendous season the team is having.
"We selected a team that we thought would be highly competitive this season" stated Team Principal Garry Gould. "The drivers have not been able to drive that LUMP we developed onto the podium. It also seems that Sergio Perez has not made the leap that the hype said he would." While the rumor is Sergio is going be cheaper next season, the consensus is he is just not ready to score major points. "While we wish him the best we can only hope that someday he becomes a worthwhile addition to any team in FGP." Gould would not talk about the car except to say that we should know that it wasn't returning next season.
There was no comment on driver Jensen Button...

I think Perez fooled us all. Granted the car hasn't performed well this year, but there are a lot of teams that have Perez. The same applies to Bottas, hard to judge the driving without a better car.
I managed to move down when the recalculation fixes took place. Oh well, now I hope the team fights back to middle of the pack.
Same here. I was so quick to jump on Button/Perez thinking that McLaren couldn't get worse but they did. I have been last all season long. No recalc is going to change that!
Aki Racing Team made a belated Japanese GP Statement after there HQ's internet source was disconnected due to lack of funds from this poor season.
On Japanese GP
"We were happy with our weekends work in Japan as we managed to tie with our closest rival this season, with a Sauber chassis that has improved lately and an Engine which is consistant . Its just our second driver who is now the dead weight. We were fully behind him while he matched the hapless Gutierrez in not scoring points, but after letting the Mexican get ahead of him we are furious with Bottas."
On 2013 FGP Championship
"We at ART (Aki Racing Team) are concerned that despite only 46 teams in FGP this year we are in 38th place going into the last few races. Last year having received plaudits for a decent debut season of 32nd of 57. We are concerned that our new team in FGP is beginning to struggle in the development race and so are looking to right this for 2014. "
On 2014 Plans
"We have nothing confirmed for 2014 but we are making massive plans to evolve our team ready for our 3rd season in FGP in 2014. We have sacked our recruitment manager who chose button & Bottas as our drivers for this season. But mostly our Chassis Manager will be changed for next season having lumbered us with a Sauber chassis all season. "
"Bottas Leaving? Well I can confirm that Bottas will NEVER NEVER EVER drive for us again in the near future. He has been rubbish and let a muppet like Gutierrez score more points than him. "
"We are also looking for a major sponsor too for 2014 to help push us up the grid."
Finally on Rivals
" Fair play to Astra F1 team who have gotten some points out of their second driver, there team boss deserves some credit. We hope his team is still doing OK after I heard rumours that none of his workers like him. "
"We are 38th and 5 points ahead of them so really want to hold on to that lead and maybe squeeze a top 35 finish by Brazil. While Henners F1 is still in the mix too"
"One team we don't consider a threat is the POSF1 team. They appear to run with 3 wheels at most events. Fingers crossed for them for next season."
It's as if Yuji Ide and Zsolt Baumgartner are hiding under Button and Perez masks! :laugh:Quote:

VAUXHALL ASTRA F1 TEAM STATEMENT - INDIAN GP
Coming off the back of a feel-good day seeing several impressive drives and the coronation of Sebastian the Fourth (congrats btw), it was a good weekend for VAF1. Having publicly admonished our lead driver Sergio Perez, he promptly delivered his best result yet of 5th on Sunday. We would like to see a strong end to the season for Sergio as he understands how important it is to keep his drive.
Our 2nd driver wasn't able to replicate the heroics of Japan, but he was able to show his continued improvement since the start of the season, and once more he finished ahead of the other $6Million driver Bottas, though we understand Bottas is lumbered with a shed far worse than even our McLaren.
With the Mercedes engine that we run also claiming an impressive 2nd in the hands of Nico Rosberg, all this enabled us to claim 28th - a result that's almost respectable, and one of our best results of the season (sigh).
This lands us back up to 37th in the championship. Our rivals Aki Racing Team suffered the misfortune of finishing joint last, failing to score more points than even the lamentable POSF1 outfit, who are the Minardi of FGP 2013. This just shows that you never know what can happen in a race, and we are aware that it can just as easily be us at any of the final 3 races, so we know we can't take anything for granted. Henners F1 is just 1pt behind us while Chequered Flag Racing have drawn level. It's all to play for at the tail end of the field!
POS F1 laments that even with a good day (Perez) we get a bad day (Button).
Who thought Caterham was a good idea, anyway?
Yeah I was wondering at the beginning of the season what you were thinking of when you chose Caterham?! :p
