Hirvonen was dominant on wet stages. He didn't win a single non-wet stage. Of course it is difficult to judge that but fact is he had special tyre compound made by Pirelli only to win Monte Carlo against their rival Michelin on their home soil (after change of tyre supplier in WRC).
