You can probably walk wherever you want at the shakedown. If you want to go to the start of the shakedown that shouldnt be a problem. I mean, it's not like they put a fence around a spectator zone and you have to stay there.
Last year we walked from the finish up until where the stage crosses an highway. Very nice spots in between.
You could go further I think, but it was already a long walk and the terrain is not really what you would call flat ;-)

It's always been a mystery to me why the Rally of Germany has never used the Nurburgring as a stage. It's only 70km from Trier, and I think it would be fanstastic as the power stage. I know the FIA has rules that dictate that a stage may only have a certain average speed before it is deemed too fast, but the Finns brought Ouninpohja back for 2012, and the FIA could probably relax that rule for the Nurburgring because it is an established racing circuit and hosts international racing events - like the Nurburgring 24 Hours - and so it has to have a minimum FIA circuit grading, and safety is one of the biggest factors in deciding the grading. If the circuit can host a grid of a hundred racing cars (many of them amateurs) at once, then surely it could cope with timed runs of rally cars going once every two minutes ...
Different shakedown this year :)Quote:

S2000 would stay half of the circuit in rpm limiter and the WRC not much less (top speed is cca 200 km/h).Quote:

Would be nice to see the Nordschleife as a Stage - however, it would just make the current WRCars look pathetic. I even tried it on GT5 in the C4.......and gave up....WRCars aren't set up for top speeds. Maybe if we get a return of proper cars....
:D Group B monster would eat this for breakfast. Several passes of it and we can see Stig Blomqvist winning Rally Deutchland.Quote:
