Delighted for mat, he has the skill and talent to do great things in the BTCC. His car is a proven winner and think that Mat will be on the podium this year, there will be a few worried men at WSR tonight knowing that they have some serious competition in the RWD cars. Was actually expecting Mat to go with a Seat possibly motorbase but as he has the support crew already in place he didnt need to

cookingfat, you missed J-Team who will enter at least one BM for Jim Pocklington.

And Kizilirmak will be out in one of ex-888 Astra Sport Hatches too.

BTCC coming together quite nicely. Motorsport News last week seemed to think we'd start the season with roughly the same number we ended last year with, ie, 24-26, that would be really good.

Cookingfat, do you not expect Jason Hughes & Kartworld to be out this year?

Sorry to dampen the spirits, yes 20 cars all very good...but....theres a lot of new cars and some very average drivers taking up ahlf the grid, this season will either be very GOOD or a 2001 i fear....

huh? How? We have Giovanardi, Chilton, Plato, Turner, Neal, Shedden, Turkington, Onslow-Cole, Pinkney, Marsh, Howell, and Jackson in what should be good Super 2000 cars.

I wouldn't say we're losing any quality from 2006, far from it. What we appear to be getting is more people filling out the middle to back of the grid. (potentially - although its hard to tell anyones respective performance yet)

Plato - Only real hot shot i can see so far in a good car

Turkington - Think that BMW might prove to be a dog if WSR can't handle it in the UK i fear for all the other indepents like Jackson

Marsh - huh? He's hardly top quality no offence...
Howell - should do well, good car

I'm just looking at the facts not through rose tinted spectacles, there's alot of un-known cars out there...

The reason I said this is because there are a few deals trying to be done to bring new and experienced drivers into the BTCC, and to name them would be inappropriate!

Yes, I do, but in what? I see he has been linked to SEAT Toledo's,(supposedly, none left) ALFA 156 (again, supposedly none left) or the MG, which I understand is not on the list of BTCC favoured cars for 2007!

I'm probably wearing rose-tinted specticles but maybe we can see some imports from the STCC or DTC. They could buy the Elgh Motorsport 320si (see my post in rumours).
