I haven't said he would ;)
I havent said that you have said it. :)
Now it's official - Vojtěch Štajf with Polo R5 in Prague Rallysprint and in 2019. In Prague with BRR car, later with one of his own team.
Another good news is that Peugeot 208 R2 cup continues. It will add also a free start on Rallye du Var for the winner of the cup.
Entry list for Prague is out: https://www.ewrc-results.com/entries...lysprint-2018/
4 WRC, 21 R5, 2 S2000 etc.
Except from what I already wrote some more unusual combinations (often suggest plans for next year)
Béreš jun. (SVK) with Fiesta R5 (ex-Odložilík)
Odložilík with Fabia R5
Kopáček with Fabia R5 (ex-Štajf)
Bisaha with i20 R5
Gavlák (SVK) with Fabia R5
Sýkora with Fiesta R5
Zabloudil with Fiesta R5 (usually Impreza STi or Impreza 555)
Kašpar with Fabia R5 (usually Octavia Kit Car)
The timetable is nearly same as last year. First two stages are short natural narrow hill-climb tracks located south of the city, then they move to the very fast and wide city circuit around Strahov stadium where they'll do 4 circuit stages bringing hours of action. Despite it's being a show the rule is that those who can fight for the win until the first spin. After that they claim they drive just for fun of spectators :p That's why we can expect Lukyanuk and Pech actually fighting each other. Also others like Koči, Melichárek or Gryzb can try.
Lukyanuk is going to start in Rufa Sport colors with H-Racing boss as a co-driver.

It's not really the most important event but if somebody is interested in Prague results here You can find them (tomorrow since 8:30): https://rally-base.com/2018/tipcars-...lysprint-2018/
Meanwhile this car is ready

Full winter in Praha today! :)

Roman Odlozilik (Skoda Fabia R5) leads after stage 3. The new Polo is third overal at the moment. Lukyanuk and Grzyb (who are driving in one team) in disappointing 11th and 13th positions.

Saw a bit of action but returned early as I have other things to do.
The Polo is awesome. Works great, looks great. I'm really impressed.
Lukyanuk when I saw hiw was driving slow and totally unspectacular. The least spectacular driver of the whole 4WD field. I don't know why but it felt like if he was just bored. Maybe it's due to the tyres he uses (Hankook). Some others were driving purely just for show (Kopáček, Sýkora for example).
Otherwise standard organization chaos for this event starting with competely unrealistic time schedule (every year it's the same!). The stages have been mostly wet with some salty snow slush.
Meanwhile Pech crashed into some parked local cars. I haven't seen any video of the crash yet.
Štajf broke wheel in the last stage and that cost him victory. It would be the first ever victory for Polo R5 but it didn't happen.
Pech's crash: https://youtu.be/Yk31b63IA7U
It's not visible in the video but he lost control during heavy braking on a wide straight before the corner.
Mirek why Luky so slow? did he mentioned something?
You don't need much of co-driving here. Most of the time You do laps on the same street circuit. I think it may have more to do with Hankook tyres which he didn't trust. I don't know.
They say something about problems with tyres and pacenotes here:
https://www.fiaerc.com/the-boss-done...-p7-in-prague/
Seems to be confirmed he was on stock tyres but in the moment I have no idea why. In 2011 local crews used stock tyres when there was snow because they worked better than Monte Carlo style tyres without studs (those are not allowed). That time this team was there with PG Andersson and they lost huge time with MC Michelin tyres compared to others on stock ones. So maybe they thought it would be the same again. But this time there was little to no snow compared to 2011.
New videos of Pech's crash. This time some people were veeeery lucky. Usually the problem with Prague is that there are thousands of people who have never beeen to any rally before and also the organization level isn't good.

Some of the crazy stuff from Prague (the video contains mostly fun stuff, not much of rally ;) ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp5Hr9p0hvc
Conditions on stages are best visible on onboards. SS1 with Trojan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0kee0ejUGU , SS3 with Trojan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvA2XWEW5hQ (the place where Pech crashed is at 2:30)
Results from Mikuláš Rally Slušovice, if somebody is interested: https://rally-base.com/2018/mikulas-rally-is-life-2018/
Superspectacular video from Prague (95% proper places without donuts or other fun stuff): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp0_nHdnVac
Also a lot of Polo R5 inside.
And a spectacular video also from Mikuláš Rally Slušovice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WCt41S1Kjw
Again a mix of mickey mouse and proper rally stuff including crazy Josef Urban with his famous yellow Škoda 130LR, superrare Fabia Kit Car or a big crash of Pavel Urban (Fabia RS TDI).
Except Mikulas only Rallysprint Kopna. He was very close to start on Barum Rally with VW Polo R5, but it was not homologated in time. There were some negotiations about start with C3 R5, but there were no available car in time of Barum. And when last negotiations to start with Skoda failed, he didnt started...
Good video indeed! Some moments worth noticing:
- Lukyanuk's mistake at 3:53 --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp0_nHdnVac&t=233
- Semerad, who is very fast and spectacular in his little Opel Adam at 6:28 --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp0_nHdnVac&t=388
- for the first time I see Subaru BRZ in a rally --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp0_nHdnVac&t=401
- Subaru driver completely loses front wheel at 7:49 --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp0_nHdnVac&t=469
I know it isn't :)

Can you tell them apart? :)

IMHO it has only the front bumper from the BRZ but it's Toyota R3.
Vlček officially confirmed he would use Hyundai i20 R5 next year. It's not a surprise but only now it's official.
