Unfortunately today early in the morning rally Sanremo was cancelled. The organisators were forced to cancell event due to huge amounts of rain and thunderstorms. Roads are still flooded, some of them even damaged.....if Covid-19 does not "destroy" events, than the weather does it....
Rally Du Valli(CIR) next week ;)
Lt's hope no cancellation(neither for weather like Sanremo nor Covid19 virus) :mark:

Will be interesting to see, how fast will be Corrado Fontana with WRC compare to best Italian drivers in R5 machinery.....
Basso leading Crugnola after 3 stages for just 0,2 sec
Huttunen +23,5 sec
https://www.ewrc-results.com/results...ue-valli-2020/
Does Fontana have some technical problems? How can he be so slow? 12th overall in a WRC car?!
Stage 6: Crungola crashed, Basso has doors wide open for the championship crown.
It is never over until end.....Basso made a mistake and crashed....
unbelievable mistake from Basso...
Huttunen leading Scandola with 56 sec and with only 1 stage and 4 km to finish
Huttunen’s stage win on SS7 put the pressure on Basso
no because they had half minute difference, and Basso was taking it easy just to finish the rally.Of course as we have seen plenty of times, mistakes can happen even when going slow.
Basso after stage 7 interview
Basso: "everything ok, we are trying to go through the tests without taking risks, we have to understand how much we lose by driving without taking risks. Let's see"
He must have realized that pace on SS7 wouldn’t have been enough.
Amazing result from Huttunen, another tactical win this year!
In fact, Basso and Crugnola were completely different league and nobody was able to catch them. Then there were Rossetti and Scandola, fighting for third place. All of them made mistakes, so they didnt won. Huttunen was +- on speed of Rossetti and Scandola.
What a year for Huttunen...
One month later and nothing has changed. It is still Basso who leads the championship by 4 points:

Congratulations to Huttunen! Good job.
I remember the times when Italian drivers were called "tarmac specialists". Not anymore.
Today one would probably agree with this article ;)

And again title will be decided during Tuscan Rewind. I hope we'll not see any strange punctures...
Italy may be heavily affected by COVID-19, but there is no sign of crisis on the entry list for Rally Tuscan Rewind - there 34 R5 cars and 113 crews on it. This event will decide who will be the 2020 Italian rally champion.

Current situation in Campionato Italiano Rally:
http://www.rallylink.it/pdf/classifiche/2020/cir.pdf
Either Basso or Crugnola will win the championship. But I think that Albertini, Signor and Re also have a small theoretical chance.
Crugnola leading Bulacia with just 1,5 sec after 6 stages!!!
Basso + 24,9 from Crugnola, slower also from Franceschi!
Watch also Franceschi times.
Campedelli out of road from 3rd place when he was 6.6 sec from leader at stage 4

comments after ss 6
Andrea Crugnola: In my opinion we are doing well, let's try to go on like this 8.05.7
Marquito Bulacia: We have improved a lot, we have more confidence 8: 05.3
J.B. Franceschi: he was a bit disconcerted because the plexiglass of the door came off and dust entered 8: 03.0
Alberto Battistolli: in our times there is progression so we are super happy 8: 10.9
Giandomenico Basso: we are trying to push but to tell the truth I have no feeling with the car, I am not driving as I would come, I cannot express myself, I am not even having fun, I have to try to understand what is in the car, in order to be able to push harder. So it doesn't make sense. Andrea is distant, almost impossible to catch.
one stage to finish.Bulacia leading,Crugnola has 22 sec diff from Basso and just 14 km to take the crown.

And we have new CIR 2020 champion-Andrea Crungola. Sincere congratulations to him, codriver and the Team.
Basso retaired on the last stage-broke the wheel off...
Giandomenico Basso stopped under test (a circle broken) Car ok as shown in the photo
"The hub of the rim was unsoldered and the rim came off. We found it intact"
Campedellis polo

I was not expecting Bulacia to be that fast, very positive surprise to me.
According to https://www.rallylink.it/cms20/index.php/tuscan-2020 Marco Bulacia is 2020 Italian gravel champion. Despite competing in 3 rallies only. So fast are the Italian drivers.
