Well done Blackhawks :hot:
It is a good day. The Cup was handed out to a worthy team, and the most deserving of the two. Hawks fans have been punished enough over the years.
It was a good game, at least the parts I was able to see. I didn't get to watch til the 3rd. I was a little miffed when Hartnell got that weird one to tie it up, but that 4 minutes of overtime was NHL hockey at its best. No whistles, no stupidity, just both sides going flat out to end it...and Patrick Kane did.
As for The Philly fans, they stuck around to see the Cup, but they did boo their faces off. Unlike the classy types in Montreal in the old Forum in 89 when the Flames won, and they stood and gave a really earnest amount of applause.
The Cup is a great tradition, and it really is a tribute to hockey that is is cherished so, and the players always shake hands and seem to genuniely congratulate each other. It would be nice if the Philly Fans could have taken out the boos...but hey, it is Philly. This is the town that boos safe landings at the airport....
What an awful series...Because I couldnt watch even one game, just no time.
Great for Blackhakws, they deserved it fully. Best team clearly.
Funny article from espn. Stupid female player saying she would take on Chris Pronger, yeah right

Read it a gain Garry, she said she would take on the sports editor who was ripping women's hockey.Quote:

No..I think Dustin Byfuglien showed Mr. Pronger's weaknesses rather nicely in Chicago in game 5. He tossed him around like a rag doll, scored two and got two more helpers.
I think the MVP being Jonathon Toews was not really telling the story. The story of the playoffs for Chicago was either Byfuglien or Duncan Keith's outstanding play...
She said shed take on Pronger.Quote:

"Obviously, it's offensive. It's disappointing more than anything. I grew up playing with boys, trained with NHL players. I would go head-to-head with Pronger any day I could."
Aaah..but she just said she would go up against him. I didn't read that as if she would take him on and win. Angela aint that stupid...she weighs maybe 160 to 180 lbs I bet at the VERY most....and Pronger...well he is a freaking monster....Quote:

I was really the only one at the party to notice the puck go in, and jumped out of my seat nearly breaking the garage light while everyone thought I was on crack or something, I was too busy screaming "we just won the cup" and everyone gave me a blank stare, until they looked back at the tv and saw the Hawks celebrating
Philly fans there were pretty classless, the mandatory booing is in order when Buttman is out there, but show some respect, the Philly players were gracious in defeat, and its not everyday you get to witness the Stanley cup in person at the stadium.
what an intense NHL playoff season it was and the right team won!!!!! time to party again!!!!
On to the british football league.
Congrats to Chicago and Kane for his litle miffed shot that only he knew went in. I think The MVP might have gone to a more deserving player for Chicago, But what do I know. I'm just a fan.
Overall a well played series by both and I really can't even complain about the officiating. The Philly fans, I wouldn't have expected anything other than that from them.
So untill next year then.............................................. .........
Wuhuu !!! The annual wait for Teemu's decision is over and he'll make a one year deal next monday
Ducks will be my numero uno this season :hot:
