There will be at least two more R5s competing in Finnish championship not mentioned yet in this thread. Those news will be revealed soon.

Nice sliding.
That means Pontus is in Skoda for 2017 then, and Skoda are in Monte Carlo.

Fabia was homologated at 1st April 2015. Afaik the first major change is possible at 1st April 2018.
Anyway very speacular driving from Pontus on the snow tyres.
I thought it was two years for changes on R5 cars?
PSA cars debuted in 2014 and had their evo in 2016.
But even then the Fabia wouldn't be due in time for Monte.
True, You are right then.
IMHO the cycle is really 3 years. I don´t know why Peugeot did the Evo after 2 years. Maybe some exception.

I can't see much reason for Skoda to play their jokers yet. The car is still around the best and I suppose they will do some joint work with VW as they prepare the Polo R5.
The road car started manufacturer in August 2014 so the facelift should be due around the beginning of 2018, maybe they'll tie the R5 EVO in with that.
Is it just me or does the Skoda Fabia R5 sounds different now, more agressive sound?

The helmet camera is great!
No, at least for three Fabia's which I heard yesterday in Monza show (Rosseti, Rovanpera, Colombini) I can only say they are by far the quietest compare to Fiesta's evo, not to mention PSA cars. And I20 R5 is also very loud.
For me biggest positive surprise are Fiesta's evo, with new mapping they are (almost) agressive as WRC Fiesta's.
Don't know how in other countries but here teams keep buying Fiestas like crazy as those are really cheap now. At least five new Fiestas to CZ in last few weeks.
Nice sound of r5 Fiestas is mostly thanx to option of exhaust without silencer. It makes car sound little bit similar to wrc.
A lot of people buy Fiestas because of bad reputation of PSA cars and problems with parts. Also reputation of Skoda Motorsport support and parts is currently not that good. And people are afraid of future - mainly VW decisions. So Fiesta is becoming popular again. As support is way better than others, parts no problem, car is also fast with new engine and really reliable and relatively easy to run.
Yes, You are right. M-Sport currently offers the best package and as a bonus it's also cheaper.
