Sure he can write off a car, he's got two ;)
Writing it off is perhaps a bit drastic, but he can certainly smash one up pretty bad without it becoming a problem. He can switch to the other one while the first gets put back together. He'll probably start off a bit cautious and try to rack up some points and show consistent performance to his sponsors though.
With all the testing before RS it looks more like coming out with guns blazing ;)
