It's a hypothetical question dimviii, and I'd like to think the answer would be a no.Quote:

If the complainant team were able to successfully argue that the wheel cover was required to be in the vehicle, and that the spectator's act of picking up the cover and handing it to Elena saved the 2 or 3 seconds he would have taken to retrieve it himself, and that those 2 or 3 seconds impacted on the results, a penalty would have to be applied.
Without knowing whether the rules require the wheel cover to be in or on the vehicle or whether they were free to drive off without it I cannot be more definitive.
Sorry for the late reply guys but I have been really busy since I got back and have put my feet up for a few days!!
What a great rally, I understand the issues in Greece but it's really a terrible thought that the WRC could lose such an iconic event! Hopefully I showed Ally and Jan and his dad just why I love the event so much, I think we had a great time even with the rain, I'm not sure Ally would have coped with a proper hot and sunny event ;)
I started by sleeping in the car all the way through shakedown as I was ill, and only dragged myself out to take a few photos of the qualifying stage which I thought went ok. We drove out and did a recce of the Sunday stages and lost track of time a bit so didn't make it to the Waves cafe, maybe next year! Unfortunately we were also too late to the first stage to get to a decent spot, so I didn't bother taking photos and instead had a good laugh at the most rediculous marshal I have ever seen  I went over and shook his hand when leaving the stage as it really cheered me up after I had been feeling terrible the whole day!
Friday morning started with Thiva, at the double bump and I have to say it was a great spot!

Then it was off on the long drive up to Elikonas, a very nice road and we decided to go to the end of the stage, I decided not to take any photos but it was an ok spot, but there were a lot of trees in the way so we didn't have the view. After the top guys we raced up to Bauxites to the tarmac section, have to say I didn't like the spot, but we stayed there for the second run (I had a nice snooze under a tree) and I walked back a bit and saw Tanak going wide and clattered several rocks including the one I was sitting on, I don't think he even got a puncture though!

We then had the long drive back to Thiva and stopped for food for a bit too long, and only made it back there just as the first car was going over the jump. Luckily I'd seen it on videos from last year and knew that it is a bit "hairy" and Araujo came straight over the jump and nearly into the crowd, luckily he managed to correct it but I had started to run..... they really need better marshalling there as if he had been going faster then there were a lot of people to hit....

Saturday started with the hairpin in Klenia, very busy there and a lot of spots to choose from.

Then onto Kefalari, unfortunately I had an overshoot on the road section which cost us a place in the car park, but I blame the poor navigator :p : But trying to get out of the car park afterwards had to drive over some big rocks as lots of people had parked in the middle and blocked the way out... Great spot though and really enjoyed it, maybe my favourite of the event

We then drove up to Ziria, incredible road section but was held up by slower cars and couldn't get past them all in our heavy car up the hills, and we were just out of time and unlike Jan I just couldn't run up the hill to the start, wish I had seeing his photos though!
Went back to Klenia but decided to go to a different position, unfortunately we were a bit too late and couldn't make it where I had planned but it was ok in the end, we had a bit of a delay in leaving as well so decided to skip Kefalari and go back to Ziria, back up the fantastic road but it was raining quite a lot so took it pretty steadily. Drove up to the car park and walked to the first few bends, Hirvonen was great to watch there as he must have missed his braking point and had to throw it into the corner, it was really quite dark and wet and miserable but I'd taken my waterproofs with me!

The rules are there to be imposed no matter if there is a gain or not... in the last few years many penalties were imposed even though there was no gain in time or performance.Quote:

We decided to skip the power stage and went to the end of the first stage of the morning, I wandered back up the stage for a few km and wasn't really happy with where I ended up, but there were a crowd of friendly Greeks there so I stayed and it was ok in the end, very very rough and dusty though after it had been used the opposite way for shakedown.

Walked in the other direction for the next run and was surprised to see Ogier catching Loeb :p : Was a nice spot though with an interesting rock formation.

If it's on the calendar next year then I will be back again for sure!! But I will take some spare battery power for my mobile as we could have used it a few times for getting around, and for results!
Agreed. But without reading the penalty schedule one cannot know whether any penalty is automatic or discretionary.Quote:

If Ford didn't have any problems with it who are fighting for the title then guess it would be way too severe to impose a penalty.
No a rim cap is not required in the car and it is legal,as it is legal if you have half fender from an exit,or a missing bumper(of course inside nomimal weight).Elena had forget to take the rim cap,so taking the rim cap from the spectator he was 1-2 seconds later inside his bucket and not faster.Quote:
