Disappointing debut for the Hyundai R5 with two mechanical retirements and only a couple of half decent stage times.
Only one type of rally and early days, but normally the best cars are pretty good straight away.
Let's see what Abbring can do in Wales..
Shame that Fisher had problems :(

According to diariomotor, Citroen will speed up C3’s R5 version in order to have ASAP a replacement for the problematic DS3. The Evo kit it's a disgrace and apparently teams can’t remove it once it’s registered on their car’s passport.

Yes, very disappointing debut of the new Hyundai. I remember being very surprised when I saw all the optimism before the car even appeared:
I even asked the question:
But Mirek assured me that everything was going to be all right:
And now look at this - 2 retirements and only Fabio Andolfi at the finish line, over 20 minutes behind the leader...
But there is still hope - let's see what the next event brings - 3 Staedte Rallye in Germany on October 21, with Hermann Gassner behind the wheel... I wish him good luck!

Guillaume Dilley won the first rally with a I20 R5. He won a local rally in Belgium this weekend in preparation for the Condroz Rally, last rally of the Belgian Championship.

Somebody took a pic of the Proton Iriz R5 and it ended up on a Portuguese Facebook page!!
Here it is...

Honestly... I don't know what to think about this... looks so...strange
The wheelarches look a bit "stuck on" but what interests me more is the Proton stickers all over the car which gives me some hope the manufacturer will back this project and it will get homologation.
The car looks like a mock up. If you look closely the bonnet vents are vinyl. I looks like a charmer for Proton.

Andreucci has been testing the 208 T16 with the factory team:

It's not the first time he is testing the works car.
First time since a long time. I bet he (neither PS Italia) wasn't involved on the Evo kit development.
Same news on the i20: Abrring TdC problems were suspension failure and water leak; at least 12 units sold till the end of year. http://www.revistascratch.com/wrc/no...fundidad-34906

Very bad start of Drei Staedte Rally for Hermann Gassner. After very disappointing times on SS1 and SS2 he is in the 42nd position.
Kreim and his Skoda are in the lead. Live results:

In the meantime Fabio Andolfi and his new Hyundai are in the second position after the first day (9 stages) of Rallye International du Valais.

Someone has to do it instead of Lukyanuk this year.
That's the way you do it!

Guys, I have a charade for you. Fabian Kreim (Skoda Fabia R5) was leading Drei Staedte Rally after 4 stages. Christian Riedemann (Peugeot 208 T16) was second, 9 seconds behind. One of the cars broke down on SS5. Which car was it? :D
Hint: Fabian Kreim is the new German champion :)
