How I see it:

Meeke bounced over the rock, hence the height of the front of the car:

The Fiesta was about half and half, sideways and slightly over the rock.

But Juho's front wheel glanced / hit the rock parallel, knocked the car to the side so the tie/steering rod broke and the wheel turned in.

As hitting rocks with cars go, yes, it was bad luck but maybe suspension needs to be stronger, like a tank as somebody said earlier.

I'm actually quite curious to see how Al Rajhi would do in a WRC car... He's not the 'usual' Middle-Eastern tourist.

These are new magnesium wheels that were designed last year as mads broke more rims than had hot dinners ,these are stronger , they are similar looking but if you get close you will see they are different , different offset , mads used them on gb and now they are using them on the " works " cars and Roberts .

That was my initial thought Dimitri that magnesium is forbidden but apparently not:

From S2000 regs:
Under no circumstances may the "rims / tyres" assembly exceed a width of 9" and a diameter of 650 mm. Rims must imperatively be made from cast material.
* For gravel rallies, only 6.5'' x 15'' or 7'' x 15'' rims are authorised, the material of the rims is free (provided that it is cast) and the minimum weight of a 6.5" x 15" or 7" x 15" rim is 8.6 kg. If specified in the Supplementary Regulations of the event (such as snow Rallies), the maximum dimension of the rims is 5.5'' x 16''.
* For asphalt rallies, only 8" x 18" rims are authorised, the material of the 8’’ x 18’’ rims is free (provided that it is cast) and the minimum weight of an 8’’ x 18’’ rim is 8.9 kg.

Although for the rest of car the following applies:
The use of titanium alloy, magnesium alloy, ceramics and composite material is prohibited except for parts mounted on the (series) model from which the VK-S2000-Rally extension is derived.
Glass fibre is authorised. Titanium alloy is permitted for quick release connectors of
the braking circuit.

Just watch Neuville's crash when it comes out on youtube. It amazes me much more than Hanninen's.
