Retirement of Simone Campedelli in SS7 :s
Now only clothe contender of Ucci is Andrea Nucita(who was less than 1" behind after SS6)...
And Nucita takes the lead of Targa Florio after SS7
He's 9" ahead of Ucci ;)
It is still a long way to the finish line.......many things can happen.
It is very challenging in Sicily-after 10th stage both Nucita and Andreucci leading rally. Third Scandola 34 sec behind them.
Three different tyre manufacturers on provisional podium: Michelin(Nucita), Ucci(Pirelli)and Scandola(DMack) ;)
Ucci did a mistake(spin in a chicane?if i understood right) and now Nucita leader with 15,2sec from Ucci.
Andrea Nucita is a winner of Targa!! Congratulations! He has perfectly taken the advantage of the changing weather conditions (wet/dry) and the knowledge of home stages and has beaten Paolo Andreucci. On the other hand, Nucita is not registered in C.I.R, so that may be the reason, that Andreucci hasn't shown 100% performance......
Scandola third, this is a success for him.
C.I.R standing: Andreucci 42, Cempedelli 22, Scandola 20.....
Entry list for Rally Elba, the 4th round of Italian Rally Championship has been published:

A small surprise at number 24 - Emil Lindholm in Hyundai i20 R5 from HMI - Italian Rally Team.

Good time from Lindholm on stage 2!
nice time from Lindholm at ss2
Ouch Simone Campedelli this morning :mark:
Dramatic start of Elba’s second leg: Campedelli retired after damaging a rear wheel and Crugnola got a puncture. Ucci is now leading, almost 1m ahead Scandola. Issues also for Lindholm: he fell down from P6 to P14.
http://rally.ficr.it/default.asp?p=Y...xpbmd1YT1JVEE#
Also Marco Pollara lost lot of time because of hydrolic problems(fell from 6th to 13th) :(
Today's victory is precisely according to Andreucci's recipe: at the beginning slowely, while Cempedelli and Andrea Crungola attacked from "all cannons", but this game was a short run. On the today's first stage Cempedelli made acmistake (damaged the suspension) and retaired, while Crungola had a flat front tyre. Andreucci inherited a lead and was then just crusing until the finish line.
Those young drivers showed speed on many occaisons, they just need to stay on the road and some luck for the flat tyres.
Finnish driver Eerik Pietarinen will drive this week-end for Racing Lions(teammate of Paolo Andreucci)at the Rally San Marino(one of the too rare events of CIR on gravel this season) :D
Here is also the entry list for rally San Marino:
http://www.sanmarinorally.com/2018/w..._IscrittiB.pdf
This event is also ideal chance for Scandola and Cempedelli, to beat Andreucci (he will be the ''sweeper'') and reduce the point advantage in the championship.
So Leg one San Marino is over: Campedelli leading in front of Marchioro and Ceccoli...
Big unluck for Crugnola(accident)and Scandola(puncture) :(
As I predicted three days ago, this event around San Marino is an ideal opportunity for other top Italian drivers to reduce the gap behind Andreucci; now they have this chance; naimely Paolo Andreucci already retaired (broken driveshaft on the rear axle).
And we have a surprising winner. Ceccoli wins Rally San Marino. I don't know much about him, but he is probably a local guy, because he drives under the San Marino flag. Congratulations!
Campedelli is second, Scandola only 8th, Andreucci out.

It's the first time when a driver from San Marino wins San Marino Rally since the victory of Massimo Ercolani 22 years ago!
Congratulations to Daniele Ceccoli once again!

Andreucci still leads the championship with a big margin:

Well Mirek, it is nice that you protect your driver, but to think that Ogier would not beat Kopecky (in an equal vehicle, of course), is a bit to overwhelming.
Like a song from Kim Wilde & Nena: Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime.....Ogier beats any local Nb.1 driver on his local soil. He is 5x WC. Period.
You didn't get the point. I meant that without bringing one of the few very best drivers in the whole world You can't expect anyone to defeat Kopecký here. Therefore it's boring if You watch it only through results and not live on stages but there is absolutely no chance for anyone to do anything about it. On the other hand believe me that as a spectator I really want him driving here because he's pure pleasure to watch.
Pure pleasure to watch...Exactly. You can´t describe it better.
It was the same when Evans did the British Championship in 2016. In some places watching him it was like he was in a WRC car compared to everyone else in an R5, such was the difference in speed carried and spectacle provided by a top driver. It was great to see as a spectator. He was a big draw for me making the effort to attend numerous rounds that year, a similar effort I haven't made since he left...
Rally del Casentino has started in Italy. Luca Rossetti leads after the first special stage today. Remaing 9 stages tomorrow.

Italians are too fast for foreign crews. After 9 stages it is the old fox Luca Rossetti who leads the rally. Alessandro Re is second. The best foreign crew is Frenchman Pierre Campana who is third. There is only one stage to go - the 36-km long night stage Talla.
Reading the locals say how tough this rally is for newcomers... very, very twisty.
Gryazin did some good times, as did Yates. Ingram just steady.. saying he was only 'knocking off the rust."
Rossetti broke his rear wheel...
And the young son of a family Re won!! Congratulations for this huge (and unexpected success). Also Gryazin can be happy with his result.
Dissapointment: Ingram.
Rosetti was as good I was expecting him to be but retired on the last due to his own mistake?
Gryazin did good and at the end lost the rally on stage 3, does someone know what happened there? Just a spin I guess?
Lindholm also showed some positive signs. 2 bad stages dropped him further on the final standings.
I don't know would I count Ingram as a dissapointment. He kinda did as I thought he would do - counting in the long break from driving.
Exactly. Ingram has had a nasty illness and a long break out of the car. He needed to finish and get maximum kilometres in the car. He also made several changes to the set-up. It was like an extended test.
I think he had a puncture:
