Tanak was taking it very carefully in the Foggy parts. Neuville was full on.... stilll huge differences for 4 km.

they are basically auqaplaning on the straight
you guys are talking like Ott was the only slow one, lol
everybody losing a lot to Thierry
So huge gaps on this 4 km stage. Tomorrow the stages are 10-16 km long!
Getting major 90s RAC spectator stage vibes from this shakedown.
A spin on the first shakedown run - the last thing Elfyn Evans needed for his confidence.
there is more fog now or is my impression?
Tidemand fifth now :D
amazing time from Huttunen
on second run the times are more equal

Evans had a decent 2nd run, just +0.2 s off Ogier.
Greensmith with his best time on 3rd run.
of course we have no idea about the tyre choices.
Suninen had softs on first run which was slow (3:22.8 - time got removed, but is still on the replay) and he was visibly sliding more than Lappi.
Said he will try rain tires on next and next was 3:15. So if Neuville had rain tires on not-yet-muddy road it could maybe explain the first time.
Veiby also with a very good time on third run, same as Neuville
well everybody doin their best times basically on 3rd, really interested if its drying up or they all tried some other tyres besides slicks

dont know if you read that.
Reiner Kuhn, Motorsport Aktuell (GER) to Mads Ostberg.
Q:
What do you think about the fact that Toksport have got Jan Kopecky on board this weekend?
MO:
It is great to see Jan back at the event, of course. He’s a great driver and I haven’t competed against him for a year I think so it will be interesting to see his level now. For sure, it will be strong competition from him this weekend and I know why they brought him there. So I’ll try to make sure that the trick doesn’t work.

The starting order is somewhat interesting for R5s, obviously driven by "other interests" and not competition
You get Formaux, Østberg, Tidemand and Morbidelli
WRCs
16. Kopecky (also starting in WRC2) and then rest with Huttunen 18. Solberg 20. and Mikkelsen 26.

Point is whom they decide to pick.
So this also is officially rally without spectators? Would love to see some spectators video footage from this weekend tricky stages. Or there will be only people from "local villages" like Canarias? :)

Some of these same gravel sections will now be run in opposite direction for SS1.

What would be the point in being remembered as the driver who managed to win the championship only in the extra short season in which most of the things were cancelled or shortened? I wouldn't be that eager either... Evans (or if a miracle happen, Neuville) will have a big asterisk next to the title.

Tyre choice in the recce was a tricky one yesterday.

But now we are ready for the action. Bring it on Rally Monza!

wet grass corner will be interesting, wrong braking and you drop 5-10s
