Good job Elfyn... solid and some speed.
Hyundai pure disaster of a rally.
Yup Sordo is sadly done!
- Sordo pissed off that the helicopter is above and hits the police car with the door of his car
- Adamo looks like he is about to kill someone and goes quickly away from camera
Adamo looked a bit angry there!!!
wuhuuuu a stage win, continues his going with 25 rallies in a row
top and only hyundai at 7th place.
The atmosphere in Hyundai Motorsport doesn't seem too good..
Jeez Adamo !
what a bunch of stupid questions again, get rid of her already
She didn’t ask anything useful! All the time she asks “what’s your feeling, how are feeling about this and that?”
What do I do with the knowledge what Adamo or anyone else there feels. nothing!
And they must get rid of desberoguh too. He is the same or even worse.
THIS IS IS PURELY MY OPINION.
That's Latvala stopped.
Edit: Moving again very fast but a long way back
so 13 cars at the end of the stage ?
nice dumpster fire this rally is... lets have more rallies in countries like mexico.
Yeah rocks on the line like that are tough luck.
Similar in Portugal last year - Tanak broke the car on a big rock and Paddon crashed avoiding one, both while leading the rally.
Must be a hard call for the engineers whether to compromise speed with a higher ride height etc to protect the car, or run a bit lower for speed and hope the big rocks are in places the driver can see them in time to avoid them. Probably a bigger risk for the later road positions on the rougher rallies as the road gets ripped up more.
Damn, his luck is unbelievable.
As for his pace, I'm speculating if the Toyota maybe is the hardest hit by the lack of oxygen in Mexico. It's clear the C3 is the strongest at this altitude, and the pace of all three Yarises leads me to think that. Add it to Latvala, who's always been critical of lower powered cars in which clean lines are essential, I'm guessing that's why he's been off the pace; he's likely used to having the extra power in the Toyota to power out of mistakes.
Fri 18:55 - Latvala in trouble
Jari-Matti's car will not restart in the pre-stage light fitting zone. Driver and co-driver are pushing the car. They had some sort of problem after Las Minas (SS7) and worked on the car for a long time on the road section. They only just checked into the control on time.
Seems like he's out. Jari having a terrible season so far.
So this means Nueville will be starting further back if Suninen, Mikkelsen, Sordo and JML restart. He could be fifth on the road which could be a sweet spot.
Honorable mention to Elfyn for keeping it safe to take second at the end of the day. Flew well under the radar!
Quite the performances from Tänak and Ogier. Also Evans and Sordo before his car broke down. Well done.
EDIT: Also exceptional stage win on Las Minas from Tänak, being first on the road!
Is it already known what the issue was for Mikkelsen?
it's become to a joke. 6 running WRC cars w/o superally and 16 cars overall. Even Ukranian national championship has more :D
Suninen's end, quite a bit off the line:
