Neither do Nordgren or Huttunen, and they are a bit faster. But of course, he is still just 17. I don't like the hype around him, because not being on the top all the time might just turn into negative pressure

Interesting times in R2. Ingram a lot faster than most of the other R2s, except for Calum Devine who is +-2s/km faster than Ingram!!
He really is a talented driver, both on gravel and on tarmac (was on the pace in Ypres Rally too)
Jari huttunen now best young finn. 6th overall after ss3. And 1st rally with hyundai. Good! :)
tasty lunch :D

Does Juho not get fed any more since he was dropped?
Interesting start so far, the gaps have grown relatively quickly, but this is a tricky rally and still a long way to go. So far Tanak and Evans seem to have the best pace, taking road position into consideration I'd say Tanak could be faster over the next couple of days. Hyundais a bit underwhelming but it's not the first rally this year that they started off on the wrong foot/setup.
Poor start for Finns! Only JM is ok 5th place. Juho strugling 10th and poor EP 11th.
RC2 young Huttunen driving hyundai is good 7th and Nordgren ok 10th. But Kalle poor and slow whole morning 17th. Suninen was fast but after puncture 23th :(

that's the downside of having it handed to you on a silver plate. most young drivers have to prove them self in lower categories, working their way up and getting experience in silence. they only start driving an r5 car once they've proven to be the fastest in an r2.
but if you want to start with an r5 car and fight the big boys, you must also accept that the stakes are high and that it can be quite humiliating.
Well, some of italian guys shit on that Hyundai R5 (someone mentions Andolfi - he doesn't end any rally at all). It's clearly that they can't drive rally car.
That guy here can throw them glowes and he is first time in the car and in WRC event which is by the way far more difficult than their national rallies.
Well, Rovanperä, had few seasons in Latvia behind R2 wheel, and beat Sirmacis and Sesks with not so good car (Citroen C2 R2 vs. P208 R2/Fiesta R2). OK, Latvia's championship ins't as strong as ERC/WRC R2 field but still, his progress was very quick. When he start driving in Latvia he was in middle of field, like he is now in Wales. 4WD was natural step up. Kid has talent, and proved that he can improve quite quick. Yes, he could step down to R2/R3 for WRC events, like some others, but it's a big question if it help him or not.
Dear friend. I know my english is not very good but you should read it more carefully. I stated that it wasn't Andolfi who said that. And they were not "shitting" at the car, just saying that it is more difficult to drive. And that was confirmed by other fellow members of this forum from other nations that actually talk with drivers of their country.
Poor Jari huttunen retired after SS4. He was best finn in wrc2 :(
SS5 live!! Great rally continue!!
Why ? Jari Huttunen has retired on liason after SS4.
Jari Huttunen Racing @HuttunenRacing

Evans flying
Evans, wow what a split !!!
Evans absolutely going for it
It would seem that the conditions are now uniform for all the Michelin runners so the champ is coming out on top. Clearly the DMACKS are different class!
not a good stage from Ott. Evans really flying
Decent time from Breen...
