PENALTY FOR MEEKE
The timing system shows a 10 second penalty for arriving one minute late at the time control before SS9.
Crazy to lose time like this when the battles are so close. :(

so now the Ouninpohja record belongs to Latvala?
Yes, looked at Twitter now. It was at Facebook, maybe some older message.
Ogier is a winner acting like a looser. Really, if there were an ignore feature to avoid reading or hearding his pathetic comments I would use it.
Paddon & Mikkelsen both retired - both cars too badly damaged for Rally2.
Something different...

We always knew @ElfynEvans was a genius! This is how he fixed his broken suspension for SS5-10!

No, in motorsport contracts don't mean anything; more U-turn clausules on it than what the deal actually stands for.
Lappi and Tidemand are very closely followed and analyzed compared to each other, on gravel as well as tarmac because the true champ is an all rounder, if they know which one, JML will be sidelined or "released" to another challenge, seemes to me a plausible procedure. Although I hope he will beat Ogier this weekend.

i've become quite skeptical of these wrc2 drivers and their ability to adapt successfully to WRC....granted they may look spectacular at the wrc2 level, but then there's that transition to the big league that really separates the adults from the children
let's wait and see how he performs if he ever gets the chance in the wrc...and by chance i mean at least a few rallies and not a one off situation
i can't see him making the top vw wrc team at the moment....i'm not sure they will move/fire any of their present top 3 drivers
maybe another one driver for VW 2 team next year
With cars already breaching previous average speed records and stages with average speed of 132 km/h like Ouninpohja , it seems to me crazy that FIA agreed at such regulations for 2017 with 36 mm turbo restrictors instead of 33 mm
as much as i'd like to see all the teams expand, i'm not sure of even VW bringing on a 4th driver at this stage
based on the current trend,,,,,3 drivers seems the most as it somewhat impacts the team's budget, logistics, etc.
Latvala when is at ''his day''.Awesome video!

Btw, Ogier rolled there too - in 2011 tests.
There are huge differences in the lines of the National Rally guys and the WRC guys, and Ogier in particular.
A national level driver will have much earlier turn ins, clinging to the inside corner, and with rear wheel drive, push the gravel out in the wide entry line used by Ogier.
Ogier comes in his wide entry line, and can't go in the lines of the national guys, so will have to live with a looser surface, off course affecting his speed.
But, all tough negative for Ogier, this is great for the rally observer. Because You get a clear picture of two things:
1) The difference in lines between national level rally drivers, and the worlds best rally driver.
2) The "evidence" to prove that Ogier runs his own lines even if the cars in front have done different.
And tomorrow Ogier will have another line as Kubica is the first car on the road. Not sure if the whole day, but there are a lot of people who keep their fingers crossed that no mistakes or car failures stop him from finishing the day.

any lake action photos ? or at least some big rock photos ? weren't any pros (LOOOLZ) in this rally ?
