Is Wiegand in the factory Skoda though?

No, it's Juka Motorsport car as usually for him. Only in ERC Barum Rally he will use works car. In fact the car he is using now is very old, originally it was build in 2009 but of course it was upgraded later several times. Juka is very good team as well.

It certainly is and I agree, although it is only his 6 tarmac rally and gravel is his preferred surface. He his surprisingly fast on tarmac all the same. His times in France and Spain last year where solid.

I could be wrong but I would expect that the extra torque of a turbo car especially advantageous out all this junctions , no ? Thoughts? Or is Germany more fast and flowing.

This is actually quite exciting for Thierry. There's a difference between driving 'just enough' to capture 2nd place, and going 'all out' for 1st. I'm really looking forward now. Hope he keeps it out of the trees and ditches.

atleast we got a nice battle for the win now, Jari for his first win on tarmac, and Neuville / Sordo for first win, so all of them should have some motivation... hoping they all can keep it clean !

In 2011 Thierry managed to survive several incredibly tight battles in IRC. In Sanremo he won by 1,5 seconds ahead of Mikkelsen. In Mecsek he lost by 0,8 seconds to Kopecký. Both was after a full-event fight. I think he can stand the pressure but of course a victory in WRC is still something more.

Yes, but with all due respect, mister Latvala is something else! :) According to rally radio Thierry seems fully in control, "almost scary how focused he looks".. He's been an overperforming underdog up till now, but now there's no more excuses. His raw pace should be faster than Latvala's, I think.

Now he must show it.

No Latvala has to proove that at 10 years at wrc can be faster than a 1,5 year newbie.
