Also, breaking news, as it turns out Jenson Button and several other sports starts have been arrested on multiple accounts of breaking and entering in recent months! Button, and the other stars, believed to be Jessica Ennis and Rory McIlroy, have committed a spate of offences by breaking into people's homes, then surprising them at inoppurtune moments and explaining to them that they could get 2% cashback on their current accounts and suchlike.

It turns out that Santander bank are involved in these crimes too and are under police investigation. It's also yet to be understood how Button, Ennis and McIlroy were able to actually enter heir victims homes, seeing as in most cases all doors and windows were locked etc.
This has a profound effect on our championship chances as a few of our major rivals have Button as lead driver. 2 of our closest rivals are Aki Racing Team and Henners F1. Since Button is now in jail pending bail, those teams are in a bit of a fix aren't they? This, along with Monza being our bonus GP provides us with a great oppurtunity to leapfrog several rivals and get back into the top 40 overall (sigh).

Today Aki Racing Team was reported to have joined fierce rivals Vauxhall Astra F1 Team in questioning the Spa GP result, when fellow backmarker Henners F1 managed a shock 6th place. V.A.F1 (Vauxhall Astra F1 Team) made their feelings clear earlier today, but in true F1 fashion the ART (Aki Racing Team) has made it clear they hold VAF1 responsible for the challenge to Henners F1. So should any action be taken against protesting teams then its V.A F1 rather than ART that will be punished.
As for reports on JB being in prison, the ART team principle made a statement earlier.
"We would like to send our support to Jenson at this tough time and hope he enjoys the cake with solid metal filling we have sent him. Following delivery of said cake, we very much hope Jenson can make it back to the paddock for the next race.
Yellow Jens GP Racing Team issues a statement that this season has been written off.
"We are incapable of reaching the goals. Unfortunately drivers are rubbish, incapable of improving and adapting to the car and this is the main obstacle of the season. Even re-hiring Grosjean again would have been much better. Ferrari chassis is dropping backwards and all the while Red Bull keeps winning, Mercedes engine is only second-best option."
"Next up is our bonus GP. Well, we can hope to move into Top20 of the championship and this is our best chance, where to finish by the end of the season."
"We overanalyzed before the season when compiling our team. Lessons are learnt from this. We will put together our 2014 more by following gut feeling, common sense and heart."

VAUXHALL ASTRA F1 TEAM PRESS RELEASE
We interrupt this thread to bring you another announcement from VAF1 Team.
The provisional result from the Italian Grand Prix was declared today and it appears that this plucky backmarker team have claimed a shock 4th place in what is surely one of the upsets of the season.
We are keeping celebrations on hold until the result is officially confirmed. We are wondering if the series promoter has been using Mark Webber's spreadsheet program for the last 2 races by mistake. (i.e. one that doesn't work very well)
Despite the fact that neither of our drivers finished in the points, and only one of our silver sheds scraped a 10th place finish (having managed to file his way out of jail in time for the weekend), and this combined with the Mercedes engine claiming only 6th, 9th and 10th places, we appear to have come up with the 4th highest points total for this race.
VAF1 have a sneaky feeling this will be a bit like Brazil 2003 so we are not counting our chickens just yet.
In other news, it is that time of year when we consider our drivers for next year. We think that Nico Hulkenberg has been mighty this weekend and this year. If the top teams don't want him, we will!

VAUXHALL ASTRA F1 TEAM STATEMENT
Here are the latest news and updates from our team:
The team were happy to receive one of our now only occasional visits from our team boss rjbetty this Thursday, having arrived to check on his teams progress.
We were quite alarmed and dismayed to check in on the result, looking on longingly at that Red Bull chassis in particular. In an increasingly desperate bid to salvage some success from this season, we are trying to contact Sebastian Vettel with the offer of a unique chance to prove a point to his naysayers who insist his success is all down to the car (i.e. garry walker).
We will offer Seb the chance to swap his chassis with one of ours! Then it is a win-win situation for both of us: We will actually have the chance to score decent results, while Vettel can prove a point (and score some too). The plan is of course to give the car to our driver Sergio Perez rather than Button.
Having scored an equal 33rd in Singapore, VAF1 remain 37th in the championship. Our only goal for this season is to finish in the top 40 overall and out of the bottom 6 (and beat 1 or 2 teams in particular). With 6 races to go, it is very tight, but we are fighting tooth and nail for every point and are determined to remain in the top 40 when the music stops at season's end.
On another note, it seems that the team boss's attempt to coax more pace out of Gutierrez by crying tears into his fuel tank worked a treat as the young Mexican lined up an eye-watering (ahem) 10th on the grid. As usual though, it didn't last and he rolled home 12th and out of the points - though he did at least finish ahead of Bottas.
In light of the qualifying performance, VAF1 have now placed a massive order of onions. It is most ironic having laughed so much at sniffpetrol.com's season preview regarding Paul di Resta, that it is in fact the Vauxhall Astra F1 Team that are now boosted by the pure power of rjbetty's misery.
In addition, there are recent murmurings of a major deal in the works with Shell. The plan is for Shell to become the team's major sponsor in 2014. Alongside this, Shell will formulate the next generation of their much vaunted (but a little too expensive for our liking) V-Power Nitro+ Fuel, the basis of which will be harnessing the power of the guvnor's tears.
On the subject of 2014, we are thinking that we should really begin to start making some plans at some point we guess.
N. Jones, can you please recheck those results. After the Italian GP I was tied with All Eggs.. and 1 point behind Liger. In Singapore I scored 9 points more than those teams and instead of leapfrogging them in the overall standings (and getting a taste of the podium) I'm shown as being 8 or 9 points behind them.
Thanks for all your work on this by the way - it really does make the season more enjoyable. Without FGP I'd probably be as tired of seeing Seb & Redbull at the top as many others, but because I picked Redbull for my FGP team and I'm fighting to get onto the podium things are still interesting.
Today Aki Racing Team boss Steveaki13 stated he was disappointed with the 2013 season and may look to sell the team for 2014. He was very critical of the teams performance, which at every race is in the top 40, but now the season total see's the team 41st of 46.
He stated: I have never seen such a rabble as we have assembled this season. The Sauber chassis is a real dog, the Mercedes engine may be powerful but both Button & Bottas have been woeful. Even a rubbish driver like Gutierrez who only the most desperate team would employ, is doing better.
The ART gaffer also added that he has set his team an minimum goal.
"I am truly angry at the decisions that have been made this season, but I have sent out a memo, stating that if we can beat AstraF1 & Henners F1 by the seasons end, then we will keep trying to improve next season, if we don't I will Sell the Team or refuse to employ any elements of our currant team next year.

Once he had calmed down he had another dig at a rival driver. "Gutierrez???? What a mug started in a fast Sauber from 8th and still finished outside the points and just ahead of our guy. I bet his boss is pulling his hair out"
