There is a small bridge from what I remember, no splash.

full report from ss kefalari, and ziria in a few hours or late at night....both great stages with many places for everyone...some though require you to arrive early because there is no access near...
The shakedown is a disgrace :( :( really really dissapointed :( :(
you are correct, no water splash on that spot.... but there are also some small streams of water which might be a watersplash if the weather is rainy.Quote:

Sexy green trademark arrows with direction of the stage, along with full details late at night.
ΟΟΟΟΟ nothing...last year some spectators tried with some stones to make watersplash but after 2-3 cars .......no water,no stones, only dust....Quote:

Perfect job !
ok after 1200 kms.. i am back and here are the rest of the stages
ss Kefalari
0.7 kms from the start there is this uphill hairpin, it is a nice place and you get to see the start as welll....
0.7 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1.8 there is this fast 90 degree corner, you can see part of the stage for a distance...this is also access no 1 from the official guide
1.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
1.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 62 there is this long straight and plenty of space to camp if you wish
6.2 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
6.2 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 6.6 there is very nice spot...cars come downhill and i think it is going to be spectacular
6.6 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
6.6 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 8.6 we have access 2 of the official guide
at 10.7 there might be a small jump
10.7 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 12.8 is this fast 90 degrees corner forllowed by a fast right hander...could be nice
12.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
12.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 15.8 there is this well known spot
15.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Acropolis Rally 2011 - SS Kefalari II (WRC) - YouTube
at 16 is the place i will mostlikely visit... very rough with big rocks sticking out...the cars will most likely bump here...
16 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 16.8...jump maybe...
16.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
16.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 17.8 probably a jump again or a big dip
17.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
17.8 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
finally at 18.2 a very nice wide hairpin going steep downhill...i might visit here as well...
18.2 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
18.2 kefalari | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Overall the stage is very very nice...some ruogh patches but overall some great watching spots....deciding where to go is going to be tough....
ss ziria
unfortunatelly the first 13 kms of the stage are not accessible...but there are some great spots...the first 10 kms are rough with sharp stones everywhere "i pity the fools" (mr T trademark)...then the stage is very very smooth and fast (limiter in 6th guaranteed if the organisers do not pu some chicanes)
1.9 we have a rough hairpin uphill with nice view.
ziria 1.9 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (the road at the back is not the stage)
at 2.5 another uphill hairpin
IMG_0050 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
IMG_0051 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 3.9 we have the MOST PICTURESQUE place in the whole rally....a huge valley, you have a view of the cars for around 2 kms maybe more and there are around 150 wild horses on the area...lets hope no accidents.

the rest of the stage up to 10 km mark has some wide hairpins and corners but the terrain is full of stones...nothing spectcular but if you go through it you are going to have a nice collection of broken car parts afterwards.
at 10.3 there is this dowhlill part...with a tight and fast corner...could be nice
10.3 ziria | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
10.3 ziria | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 11.7 another similar place a bit faster this time
11.7 ziria | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

at 14 mark there is this straight...it goes for around 1.5-2 kms...i wish the engines good luck.
14 ziria | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
14.ziria | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 14.9 still on the straight there is this water hole.....the road is around 10 meters wide so they might avoid it....or if we have high temperatures the water is not there
14.9 ziria | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 18.1
we have this place...i might visit it.

ok the two long stages are those..... in a few hours i will post about the dissapointing shakedown and the rest of vauxitees stage (from 16.9 km to the end) which is FANTASTIC !!!!
@Nafpaktos, the place you choose is indeed great but it is worth walking a few kms (2-3) from it because there are some fantastic spots you can choose from...so the decision will be hard.
again the mileage i wrote are not 100% accurate give or take 100 meters...
any questions are welcome
enjoy.
by the way ..this is no more...
16.9 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
it was replaced by this

Great job, Ziria looks good
Quilifying stage
the stage is not good...very narrow uphill and boring...
at 0.6 from the start we have a 90 degrees corner ...it could be good because before it there is a 600 meter straight... but the corner is narrow so the drivers do not have many options to risk the braking point
0.6 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
0.6 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 2.4 we have a cement bridge...slow section before it.
2.4 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
2.4 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 5.9 we might have a watersplash...but we need rain for that....if we have no rain the small stream will likely go dry.
5.9 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 6.3 we have a stream which is a bit larger....but it is on the limit with the stage end...
6.3 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
6.3 qs | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
ss Vauxites part 02 (16.9 onwards)
this is the downhill section of the stage some really nice spots in here
17.9 we have this fast section with some 6th gear corners..
17.9 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
17.9 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
at 18.1 (the palce Nafpaktos located)...very nice place very fast and very wide..
18.1 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
18.1 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
after that we have an array of a little bit everything...fast downhill corners, large dips which might lift the cars and in general you have to walk for 2kms to see everything before deciding because every 100 meters there is a nice place....very nice section...it almost makes me to sacrifice thiva to arrive there early and watch just 2 Vauxites stages from different parts

19.2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

at 20.3 there is a quarry with a fast section where you can see the cars for around 600 meters...not bad...
20.3 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
20.3 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
finally at 21.8 there is this waterhole....if it rains might be fun for a few cars...then the water will wash away i think...if it is very hot around the time of the event it might evaporate.
21.8 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
well that is the last part of my recce hop you enjoyed it and have fun whoever visits Acropolis rally.

Great job
just one question: are you sure Ziria, km 21.9 is INSIDE the stage, please? I think there is enough time to go there after seeing the cars at Agios vasilios at Klenia Mycenae SS
according to google maps it is inside the stage definately... it is 400 meters from the end of the stage....you can see the small structure on google maps as well.Quote:

about arrival time you have to calculate it yourself to be safe and you have to take into account that there might be traffic jams... although i do not think we are going to have big numbers of spectators this year...but all remains to be seen
by the way today it rains heavily all day where i am around 500 kms from the stages...if the rains move towards the stages in the following weeks it is going to be interesting....
today i work about 100km away from Friday stages (near Lamia) and we had some little rain too
Hello everybody,
We will as well come to WRC rally greece from Finland. We haven't been there never before. Thanks N.O.T for your tips. Do you know places where some car has crashed during past years?
Is there in the forum anybody who has madia tabard stickers and media passes? Is it easier to move there if you have that pass?
In Greece the roads are not that demanding so we do not have any known place were the cars crash... it is mostly due to random mistakes rather than the spot itself.
About the pass it is going to be my first year in which i am going to have photographers accreditation so i do not know what is allowed and what is not yet..
maybe someone with experience could answer that part.

"no war" with hippy signs, that is definetly the strangest livery I've ever seen! Looks good though ;)
Greece is the only event where a photo tabard does not means anything...Quote:

the third one is at the power stage indeed... around 1 km from the start maybe less.
You have to go in from the start. I think you have to be there early, as close to the starttime the road was closed for public just after village Gymno. Its a steep road up to the start with some hairpins and people was walking up there quite some time (2 km, 200 m altidude difference). I had a media sticker on the car when i was there and could so drive until the time control and park there.Quote:

I'm not going to Acropolis this year, but information what N.O.T. provides is something! Official rally guides is nothing compare to this. Definetely will try to visit Acropolis next year and I wish every local rally fan has so much passion to rally as N.O.T. has!

i do not know how the weather is at the south or near the stages but if it even close to what we get to the north, then pack umbrellas and raincoats... for the last 3-4 days it rains daily for at least 3-4 hours a day and the weather is very cloudy and dark for the most of the day... lets hope things improve.
Heard that next week the weather will be hot again and sunny (temperature up to 29 C)Quote:
