D'oh, let's just hope the other rally stars are still there. The entry list is after all so short.
Ford is already building their House, only 7 big Ford trailers so far in Paviljonki HQ
Al-Rahji is in Laajavuori
Some of paviljonki roads will be closed already this night.

Hmm, I could visit Paviljonki already tomorrow. Is the area open for public?
Anyone got a archive of inboards they could post easy? I deleted mine :/
Just started looking around a bit.
Here is this years SS1 Koukunmaa same as ss7 last year.

Bluuford, any chance for weather predictions? I'm seeing it might get rainy which I really don't hope for. Firstly because of spectator parking (no field parking = long roadside walks), secondly because of comfort.
Apparently a lot of testing going on at the moment. Customer Fords (Block, Rantanen) and Hirvonen at least.
I don't know Lankamaa too well, but it is for sure traditional stage for the rally and relatively fast too (average over 120 km/h). Most notably for this year the end part is different, thus no "barn bend" which is famous for several high speed offs (Al-Qassimi, Llovera + 1 in 2010, P.Solberg in Focus 2000?).

Small video from SWRC tests...
I heard mentioned that field parking is already out of the question for most stages because of the rainy summer we've had.Quote:

Don't like corporation stuff in the name of the thread. :P
Presumably they've paid for the naming rights, therefore this is the correct event title.
It indeed were heavy thunderstorm for a while in this area too (near Ouninpohja start) and I read similar stuff from further north of Central Finland.
Recce started this morning. Let's hope there's no trees fallen across the roads etc. (remember SS Myhinpää 2010) to slow them on a busy day.
Shakedown is the same as last year apart from it ending just after the junction right after the jumps right? Shame cos the last combination was really good and in the open so everyone could see.

OK! In a couple of hours we are leaving for NORF. I´m looking forward to this year as well as other years. It will be exciting. Pity the pickems thread isn´t opened. I did my pick anyway which you can read at that topic.
Go Petter! It´s his time now. And Mikko will follow. Loeb? Visiting a ditch a couple of minutes makes him just fifth or sixth...
Can you make out the beginning from this? Junction at the end is by 5:20minQuote:

How do people rate the chances of Chris Atkinson on this rally?
It appears he is there more for a PR exercise to build his own brand than to go rallying. He only has a few small sponsors decals on the car and he seems to be trying to get close to Ken Block in terms of brand positioning and tie-ins. I hope it works out for him, he was certainly a spectacular driver and maybe there will be room for him in the WRC again when Loeb retires and the competition is opened up a little.
Atkinson's DS3 WRC does look great though, although I'm not sure of the American style of drivers 'claiming' a number as their own as he and Block appear to have done. I remember when Valentino Rossi did the same for Rally GB years ago, the FIA weren't happy to give him number 46. Then again, if it brings well supported, well branded drivers and their money into the WRC it will help revive the sport.
His brand IS to go rallying. Not sure what you mean.Quote:

As for the numbers - the FIA were only reluctant to give Rossi 46 because someone else had that number all that season (PWRC, I think?) so fair enough. Make him pay to use it!
There is reason behind the 43 of Ken Block, he used to own (until he sold it for huge amount, but still is actively involved) in DC Shoe company. Which numbers are these letters in the alphabet ? ....Quote:

First, I'm happy that Atkinson is making appearences in WRC this year. He was not exactly an also-ran in his Subaru years, especially the last two. In his last performance in Finland, he claimed a podium. That doesn't come for nothing. But for now - it's best not to have any high expectations for him because of the break he's been into. If he get the rhythm, I'd say he land somewhere around positions 6-8, but it's just as possible that he'll get DNF. Anyway, he is one of the nicest additions to the entry list - out of the regulars, that is.
By the way, does anyone have any fact that Henning will start? Any sights of him?
This photo appears as it've been taken from the walk bridge when arriving the service park. The new hotel that's been built in the middle of the service park is finished now and some (many?) of the drivers are staying there and at least Mikkelsen posted similar photo in his Twitter account. It's clear that the city of Jyväskylä lives for and from the rally.Quote:

You mean the Kakaristo junction, I guess. Usually there has been a huge field parking area there. Was there last time in 2003 and then some cars got stuck somehow - stupid driving methods.Quote:
