My Wings got lucky and squeeked through another 3rd period onslaught from our latest rival Nasville.But our Stars came through in the shootout.
Zetterberg tied a Wing record for longest point streak from the begining of the season, and Ozzie is still unbeaten.Hasek comes back in our next game welcoming Sergay Federov back to Detroit hosting the Bluejackets.He does still play here doesn't he? I might go see for myself thier giving away orange hunter caps with a Red Wing logo on them.

I am a huge hockey fan. Hockey represents team spirit more so than most other team sports, immense dedication (how many athletes lose their teeth, only to be back in the next shift as if nothing happened), speed. I love hockey.Quote:

Rangers have lifted their level lately, 7 wins out of 8 games, but I still feel they are lacking something. If Jagr, Drury and Gomez get in groove though, then things will be very difficult for everybody.

Them goalies Hasek and Osgood are just average level and you need them. Also I see it quite surprising how well them does in offense,even when I dont see nothing special there. ok (Datsun) is ok and Zetterberg seems to continue to score and yeah Holmstrom is always on the zone and some guys like Filppula or Cleary can make a game to way or another. I think Wings is a strong team because of them defense as it has been for years but its not enough. Dont pick so many Swedes :P and get a good goalie(ok Osgood has won 8 games this season) and all should be well. Luckily the Wings has got away for "oldest player average title" I think.
What comes to my team Blues them started well but then lost a lot of games by a few goals. Ok we have won some top teams of the league but has lost to many teams what we should have won. We have quite an ok goalie and he has been saving a lot of games to us this season aswell and our 1st line(Kariya-Tkachuk-Weight) has some name but powerplay hasnt been too good and the poor home ice has been against us a few times aswell. I hope us to end up for a playoff spot but theres a long way to go but the future looks quite bright I think. Next up we will face the Blue Jackets and yeah I hope to see a win :)
For me the most surprising stuff still has been a poor start of the Sabres and the Devils on east and the great start of the Canes and the Blue Jackets.
I think my team can be summed up perfectly as the last 40 years in Maple Leafs history... ups and downs but avaerage.. Our coach who I was once a fan of is making terrible coaching desicisons (leting McCabe hog all the minutes and giving Andy Wozneiwski more minutes then our young GOOD defensive prospects like Kronwall and Stralman.. Our General Manager is a complete and utter moron.. trades Tukka Rask (our best prospect for Andrew Raycroft who had a terrible last season with the Bruins Yeeek!).. then our general Manager ties up about 20+ million to our BlueLine (Gill,Kubina,McCabe are the ugly examples) and gives McCabe,Kubina,Tucker NTC's like it's halloween candy..Our future looks bleek as we look to sit on mediocrity for a while..Quote:

AFF: I never heard of Koivu getting called out for unsportsman like conduct at the end of the game so I'm not sure at all...

One particular player I want to see in action is Tuukka Rask. I believe he was Toronto's booking at first ??
he was ours until we traded him for Andrew Raycroft :banghead: he's at Boston now. he may very well get his first start this year.. I watched him in the World juniors live and on TV and he is a fantastic goalie.. I wish him all the luck.. I still wish he was ours :(Quote:

Back in September I took a chance on Selanne and picked him in my pool :D . I then dropped him in our 30-game redraft in December (and picked up Mike Richards :up: ). We have our second redraft coming up, and since I may be picking first (don't laugh :mad: ), I may get to pick up Selanne again :D

Just wanted to post something with regard to Florida Panthers RW Richard Zednik who suffered a horrible neck injury against the Buffalo Sabres the other day. One of his main arteries was cut accidentally by the blade of Panthers captain Olli Jokinen when Jokinen fell down after a check.
Zednik skated to the bench under his own power, and then was rushed to hospital. It was announced about 10 minutes after the incident that Zednik was in a stable condition.
He will be out for probably at least a couple of months, however it is speculated that he will be able to return for the playoffs should the Cats make it.
I wish him, his family and his teammates well after this frightening accident.
Olli Jokinen was totally shocked and thought they should have finished the game at once. God for bid Zednik managed to skate directly to the bench to get first aid and later on got a succesfull surgery.
I hope accidents like that never happen anymore.

My friends son Sami did play his first game in NHL for the Capitals last night, he got some reasonable minutes and powerplay too, not bad.
It was not quite as sickening as the Clint Malarchuk incident, but still, sick. Quite disturbing to watch.Quote:
