I just don't get it. Toyota develops the same car 2x, how dumb is that. There is an Auris in Australia running for a year now!!!
If you look at the corolla, it wasn't a big succes in england, maybe Toyota should learn to work togheter!!!

I don't understand that there is no factory team in Europe, they just throw a whole lot of money in F1 and they never had good results there.
Exactly. But it will take some years for Toyota to realise they have a lot more return on their WRC program than the bloody shummy in a toyota! Today I saw an old corolla with a litle logo of WRC championship wins on it. Very small and subtile, but it reminded me of very good times!Quote:

I'd also like to know why there are 2 versions of the Auris, i just do think that its a natural progression for SA to build it as they started with the Corolla,
Am i correct in saying that the Auris in Aus is only regionally homologated?
I think You're right in Auris homologation ;)
Apparently first event for Jozef Petak with the 207 S2000 will be Labske trottina Rally(CZ) :)
Do you know when this rally starts ??
Yes, it is my closest event some 60 kilometers from my home :) It starts on 9th November, I think. The rally shoud have been in april originaly but there were problems with organization so it is moved on November. It leads through mountains and is quite technical in our local conditions (our mountains are just hills of about tousand meters). I'm afraid of snow on stages because no spikes are allowed... Anyway I'll be there definitely :)
It seems that Jesus Puras will drive a 207 S2000 on spanish championship in 2008. The car will be a works one run by BMR.

Of course don't forget to follow next CIR event, the Rally Costa Smeralda(gravel) on which Fiat called...Anton Alen to part with Giandomenico Basso :bounce:
And at last, let's see what Brice Tirabassi, Dani Sola(both in 207s)and local driver Claude Chossat(Grande Punto)can do in Corsica WRC :p :

Correct, and the lion might be a head in front of the others, at least on the reliability it looks like. The rest is hard to say.Quote:

oooooohhhh its gotta hurt when Freddy says that , seeing as the Fiat is a fulll "works"car and the polo is a little piece of $#*& built in deepest darkest africa! and not "works"as you all like to put it! :-)
There is a rumour Jan Kopecky will start the 2008 IRC with a Polo and then move to the Fabia when it is ready. If so, I imagine his father's team CRT would run the Polo rather than Jan drive for Rene Georges.
This rumour is, ehm, bad interpretation of journalists. There was press conference, where was Kopecky saying, that it looks next year they wont start in World Championship and there is possibility to start in IRC. One journalist was asking him, if he will start (before finishing Fabia S2000) with VW Polo S2000. And he answered that it should be one of the possibilities...Quote:

I don't understand why Skoda is taking so much time to begin testing with the Fabia, they presented the prototype in March...I have a lot of expectations about that car, one of the problems of the VW Polo is that its in the end of its commercial life,it should be replaced in the beginning of 2009...
Come on Skoda show us the car
In March it was only bodyshell, not working model.Quote:

According to the MSD website they are saying that the S2000 rally car has 270 Hp at 8500. Most others have 280+ have they not ?
They are not mentioning anything on the torque, that are very important also.
But 10-15 hp is 10-15 hp.....
But it is still early days !
Yes, but at least it is a possibility. And it kind of makes sense.Quote:

As some others said, Skoda are taking a verrrryyy long time to develop the Fabia. Latest I heard was October 2008? It had better be good!
Aris Vovos will take part at next weekend's Kentavros Rally counting for Greek Tarmac Rally Cup with Fiat Punto S2000! He will also enter Palladion rally with the same car!
Tirabassi has confirmed a 2008 IRC programm with the 207
According to the portuguese Autosport magazine there could be at list six S2000 cars on the 2008 national championship !!!!
Names given:
-José pedro Fontès(Fiat Grande Punto)
-Bruno Magalhaes(207)
-Bernardo Sousa(207)
-Vitor Pascoal(207)
-Nuno Baroso(207)
-Pedro Meireles(Polo)
Of course these are more rumours/speculations(but serious)than real official news but let's hope that becomes true :bounce:
Pedro Meireles wants a Fabia S2000 but probably will start season with a rented Polo. Barroso and Pascoal tested the Polo on last rally, but Rene Georges don't assure them evolution of the car so they are looking for a 207.
what you write is not true, we (RGRS) never said that the VW Polo is not going to have evolutions, its just press talk and we are not happy with the Portugese autosport article. The VW Polo S 2000 will have many changes for next year and is fully developed by VW Racing SA and Rene Georges.
I just said what the article says.
Sometimes journalist write what the drivers didn't said, i don't believe that the Nuno or Pedro said that RGRS is not going to developed the car, probably they said that with a factory behind the project, it is easier to develop the car, but sometimes jornalist write some sensacional things...
I think Pedro is the right man to drive the Polo, because of his conection with the group VW and i think he could be fast..
Oscar, we understand what the Journalist write in Autosport Portugal and we know the truth. that is why we made the reaction to this item. greetings to all in Spain where we hope the best for the championship this weekend... is going to be a big fight between Alberto and Fuster.
and ofcourse we hope Alberto will win it .... :)
Sorry if my words sound rude or something similar.
I think that Alberto will win, he's the only driver that depends on his own result to get the championship. I'll be there on thursday, let's see what happens.
is ok Oscar, i know you only write here what you read in the article..... greetings, unfortunately i can not be in Spain, we have 1st Rally for the Polo S 2000 in Austria with Andreas Waldherr, so i need to be there.... but i will follow the rally online...
Last rumor:
-Grifone take the Toyota S2000 devlopement !
Where have you found that rumour? I have heard about it in June, but from that time there is silence around...Quote:
