Does anyone has estimates how many R1 cars / kits have already been sold?
Or what is approximately the number of R1 cars in different European countries?
My current opinion is that R1 isn't coming to be popular in first wave, since with the price of a new R1 car, you still have too many cheaper and fascinating options on second hand rally cars markets.
There are lots of them in France thanks to one-make cups but otherwise very few I think. Here in CZ it was only one Twingo last year. In 2013 few Citroën DS3 will join but I expect only two or three.
The DS3 R1 arrived in the Netherlands yesterday.

2 Twingo's in the first Rally of the Belgian Championship. I guess there will be some more in Belgium...

Martin Schanche Jr have set up a good system for people new to rally to be able to try i out in a R1!!
In Spain Enrique Garcia Ojeda(together with Citroën Espana) becomes a "teacher" for young drivers and will offer a DS3 R1 to the best of them this season...at least it's what I understood from spanish language :confused:

Are there any new manufacturers arriving to R1 or R2 scene?
There was nice picture from Yaris R1 in page 3, is Yaris R1 popular in any particular country? Have they done R2 version from Yaris at all?
Is Yaris R1 already homologated?
