“To finish first, first you have to finish" - says Jon Armstrong:

i was reading about the 40k that skoda is 'paying' to their top 3 drivers in each round. but reading this i understood that its not actual cash, its 'discount' for new parts bought with the skoda motorsport. i mean, im all in, for sure. i wish all the brands had more stuff like that, especially in erc and national series, but it was curious to learn that its not aaaactual money hehe

It very rarely isThere's almost always a parts or services deal in there that costs the sponsor less than the headline "value".Quote:
aaaactual money
In any case, even if it isn't cash it's still help and it's a shame that there isn't as much about as there used to be in years gone by.
The gravel stages in the Hungarian countryside are challenging, and the crowds are usually great. Veszprém as a HQ makes it easy to explore some cool spots around the rally too.
Two Swedish youngsters, Reiersen (21) and Grahn (19), to compete in Rally Hungary:

Hungarian star Miklós ‘Mixi’ Csomós joins Team MRF Tyres and switches from Škoda to Citroën:

Norbert Maior will also run in Hungary ;)
Disappointing entry after a strong round one.
Amended entry list to order Roope Korhonen as number 1.
This shows pretty much the regulars for the ERC season without the 'big name' extras we saw at Rally Sierra Morena.
The locals here are pretty quick though, so it's still going to be really competitive.
Overall an interesting entrylist though, especially in Junior ERC and 2WD ;)
Interesting Romanian promising driver Cristian Sugar is in Junior ERC for the first time(last year in the belgian Clio Cup he was really fast)

Event preview:

“The race is a bit later than last year, so the stages will be even more challenging with the heat, so I’m expecting a survival race,” says Mixi Csomós. “The winner will not necessarily be the fastest driver, but the one who makes the fewest mistakes. And that’s very important, because there are 10 or 15 drivers who have a chance of winning.”

Yes, according to the article at https://www.fiaerc.com/en/news/berta...e-erc3-counter it's a record 13 crews in ERC3 and many of them are very young.
do we know if some other channels are also broadcasting stuff? the fb page seem less active than the UK< Polish and Scandinavian rounds (who were always doing livestreams) https://www.facebook.com/rallyhungarycom

So who will win? I think the fight wil be between Armstrong, Csomos, Ostberg and Marczyk. Don't know what to think about Korhonen.
nice little stage. very 'wrc'ISH. but the R5 are looking great in it!
ahh I thought i'd see the rally4 lancia on the open broadcast. they brought some car, right?
Nice close times bodes well for a great battle.
Korhonen is fast but Armstrong was fast on FP and on the QS even with a tyre off the rim. A shame for Philio Allen on QS as he was quick in practice. He is a bit crazy though.
I just hope that punctures dont decide who wins.
