Mārtiņš Sesks confirmed for Rally di Roma Capitale, in the colours of Team MRF Tyres, together with Llarena, Pardo, Herczig and Campedelli:

Good point is that all of top 9 except Araujo (logical) seems to be there (there were some financial concerns for Solans and Tempestini).
With also locals Crugnola, Andolfi and Basso being there.
Interesting to see Mares also + Virves in Rally3
When looking at the other categories, one surprise only: Fotia is missing in ERC4 (a bit surprising for a tarmac driver). Renault disappointed with his results? (Also some rumors about management changes in Renault/Alpine Sport; if true, maybe some impacts on their Rally3 program?)
I don't think Solans will be there, unfortunately.
Looks like you are correct. :(
"Nil Solans will not appear in Rome.
Time problems prevent Kowax 2Brally Racing's Hyundai i20 N Rally2 from being fine-tuned. Marc Martí's injury finishes off the job."

I am curious if "time-problems" is nice wording of "money-problems". Nevertheless - shame. I could be nice fight with Italian guys.
They say here that there is a slight chance that Llarena can win the championship already this Sunday:
https://www.fiaerc.com/erc/news/erc/...roma-capitale/
Well, assuming there is a 8th round, it should be a little short this weekend I think:
He should finish at least 2nd (+ 5th in PS), or 3rd (+ at least 2nd in PS) to write off Solans definitively (even if I think Solans will not finish the rest of the season no but I mean officially).
And he must score 19 points more than Tempestini (and not talking about all the others that he must beat or not losing points).
With all the Italian guys, it is not that simple. All the more than Llarena has no interest to take big risks with already 1,5 hand on the trophy.
A pity not to see Solans here; well, only real fight now is for 2nd in the championship (assuming we will not see Solans again) between Tempestini, Battistolli, Pardo, Torn and Sesks. Finally, not that far from WRC :D
And also ERC-4 Junior maybe

Yet another car backed by MRF. Is it number 6?

Practice Times and Sesks was going well again:

But he had a puncture on Qually as did Ken Torn !

Results (times) were changed 5 times already :) But as always rallybase has the best info - Sesks and Torn - punctures, Basso and Ciuffi - jump start.

Llarena only 16th on SS1 - did something happen to him ?
No. He was just cautious. And was third car (first 4x4) on the road which was quite dirty.

Basso won 1st stage,Guigou with A110 3rd time 0,6 behind.
Yes, but it's a very short stage, just 5 km, and the differences are very little, so it's hard to draw any conclusions. Let's wait for SS3. It has 29 km :)
Basso second penalty + 1min
"(28 - Guigou Emmanuel / Bronner Kévin): accident in SS 3"
Martins Sesks wasn't as great here as in Liepaja. Already on SS3 he ran wide on a right-hander and slid off below the road. He is out of the rally, but MRF Tyres team say he will restart on Sunday.
Basso handed additional 1min penalty
Giandomenico Basso has been handed an additional 1min time penalty for jump-starting SS3.
The Italian driver was already penalised by 10sec for a similar offence on SS1 and, as per FIA regulations, second-time offences carry a harsher penalty.
He now trails the leaders by 1min 11.6sec
How come such an experienced driver makes such mistakes?
Again stage stopped?
