Perfect GMT times for me - brilliant!
Really buzzing about this one - although after 3 years of suffering, if Petter doesn't have a good result here I will have to kill someone...
-
Just one comment,
Gabriel Pozo who was originally entried wih a Tango Team Lancer N4 for Argenina (as his only race for 2008, pWRC and national championship), has finally reached an agreement with Barattero (Subaru STI codeveloper in Argentina), so he will compete the rest of National Championship and the WRC round in Argenina this week with a Subaru N14.
New car and first race since UK Rally last year (were he lost his last vcahnce for 2007 PWRC crown), bu very good news for Pozzo.
Unfortunately all these came to close to the rally, and he was not nominated as wild card entry for PWRC points (Ligato and Beltran are nominated, a pitty cause this last one is not a good one)

If thatis the case Subaru will make this car work propperly just before it is replaced by a new one!!

What does the collective think about how Travis Patrana will do with the more experienced Derek Rinker instead of Christian Edstrom. By the way, Christian is a great guy.

A good co-driver is essential, and more in a case like Travis who is not used to writing notes.
I guess Travis will show big improvements, but not only for Derek, but because it will be the first wrc round he does for a second time, so he will have better notes and knowledge of the roads.

I guess same as before, he will have no chance against the frontrunners, my guess is that the gap between him and the winner will be around 5 minutes.

Only 5 minutes?
Nearer 20 minutes surely as in Mexico 8th place was about 18 minutes behind wasn't it?
(I could be horribly wrong :) )

I also expect Petter to get a podium here, it is time already, the car is looking better after new mexico.

Well, since I like Travis, I hope you are at least a little wrong. :)
I hope he does very well but I won't predict a win.
-
I'd love to see Travis getting points, but I don't think it'll happen.
He'll get too excited at a watersplash and retire!!

5 min behind the winner in PWRC.

Has anyone got any tips for Surprise of the Rally?
Mine would be Sordo - can see him winning here for some reason.
I also think Atkinson will do well again.
-
Yes I've got a tip for you:
wake up and see that Atkinson and Sordo haven't got any chance to win!
How boring it is; it can only be 2 men that can win there
-
The surprise will be Citroen struggeling with the tyres.

and don't forget the engine, but that is no surprise.

I have a sneaky feeling that Petter will get a podium.
He's 0-2 this season in points, so third time's a charm.

Villagra could be close to top four by the end.
-
I have to admit, team Subaru and its supporters are the most optimistic people around :) Never give up, never surrender ..........
-
Surprise of the rally:
Atko taking 2nd place (pending mechanical failure) with Petter 4th.

Latvala or Loeb to win.
Hirvonnen a distant 3rd.
Atkinson 4th
Galli 5th
Petter 6th
Although I reckon you could swap Atkinson or Galli around.
-
Latvala or Loeb for the win. Atkinson or Hirvonen third.
I'm glad for Atkinson that he's got a better codriver.

The most optimistic - Latvala fans. I think he will retire.
-
Well, I think nothing dramaticly will happen. Loeb will win with a small margin against J.M.L, third Mikko, then Atko, maybe Peter or even Giggi....But Impreza's must first come to the end...

Hopefully all that extra blue paint will slow Loeb down a bit this weekend.
Are Subaru's still needing to creep through watersplashes with this evolution of the S12?

Why has everyone given up hope for Hirvonen. He's been stuck in a position for the last two years where the teams point were most important, it must be hard to get out of that mind set. He'll step it up a notch soon i'm sure.

agreed, but he needs to get his backside in gear as Latvala has upped his game considerably

Are there SD news already, we are toward the end of shakedown now ???
-
Pg lost one hour of Shakedown due to that his pit tent was destroyed in the strong winds and landed on the car and destroyed parts of the roof and the windscreen
-
Shakedown news ???

Could the wind cause visibility problems on stage do you think?
After the first cars have gone through, the dust thrown up will be blown for further. Just a possibility...

Go Petter! :)
He now has 3 top Shakedown times in a row - and yes i know it counts for nothing but it is encouraging.
-
well, at least he tops something
