Rally GPS
This weekend for the Jordan Rally, you can follow the cars Live (every 30 sec update) on each stage, to and from stages and service! WRC Radio just found out and are praising the organizers of Jordan Rally, so if your up... there's still about 3-4 stages left of the day and perhaps even see this in near future rounds of the WRC!!
If you have Google Earth just download this from the Jordan Rally site:
http://www.sporttraxx.com/events/jordan07/
Also if you don't have Google Earth just google Google Earth and download it. Will only take a few mins but very worth it! If anyones used it what do you think of it? But if you missed out you missed out!
Matt.

This would be interesting to see on the WRC. I don't suppose that it will ever happen!!!.

Its a simple thing to do - but looks very good for the desktop spectator.
But as normal getting someone at each rally to put the data into google is to much to ask!
I know these things cost time & money, but in my opinion its worth the expence to enhance the wrc (raly) experance!

wat would hav been good would be that they could have left the GPS devices on in each of the cars and we would see them traveling back to their home countries and garages via plane or boat! :) :p

Here in Bulgaria we had such extra in 2005 and again in 2006 for Rally Bulgaria (ERC round) ! On this link you can see how it looked like!
http://gps.rallybulgaria.com/2005/RallyPlayer.htm
This is a replay of the GPS tracking ! Just click "play" on the right and then click on number one at the bottom of the screen!
Hopefully this year we could follow the cars on-line again !!!

Acroplis Rally of Greece has also done the google thing - quite good!

I would love to see teams publish the GPS data similiar to what one of our local hill climb competitors did here: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthrea...gonew/1#UNREAD
If the basic MQ200 data logger from MaxQData can do it I am sure the data from the WRCar systems can be made to generate such data in such an easy and interesting format.

Lets hope the MSA do the same?.
