Crash History
First of all this isnt a for sale ad, just gauging opinion :)
At the moment im trying to sell my Escort that once was a CAT C damaged car, It has been fully VIC checked, has a new MOT, looks great and drives very well. But despite it looking n driving great people are saying its worth £500 at most, which is around £200 under my valuation.
Would you say this is fair and how put off would you be by the history?
All opinions welcome :)

Depends on age, mileage, engine size, gadgets etc. Auto Trader is the best place for comparison. Also remember that 12 months tax is worth getting on for £200 (for me anyway) so if isn't taxed you lose quite a bit of bargaining power. Finally, the people are generally right, they are the ones that'll end up paying for it :)
-
What year and spec is it?
-
Its a white Escort Si, 5 door hatch, 1995 (n reg), 112,000 miles.
Ive got someone interested in it now offering me a p/x with a beemer 318 which would be great :D
-
In all honesty then I think you are lucky if someone offers you £500 for it. It's not a new car :)
-
£500 sounds about right, or more to the point £700 sounds really steep. Have a look through the Trader website and see what else you could pick up for £700 and you'll get a rough idea.

When I was a poor old student I had an '95 M reg Escort Si and part exed it in March 2002 for a grand. I dont know much about car prices but I would be extremely happy with £500 quid.

£500 is asking a bit much IMO. We sold my Dads corsa for that and it was 2 years newer with only 70k.
-
Would have thought you could have got a bit more for it Mark, Corsa's are decent little cars.
-
Yea but Corsa's are well..... well I wont go into it!
But I guess if I take my rose tinted glasses off £500 is about right, but im gonna try and find someone out there thatl pay a bit more if I can. If it dosnt go in the next week or so il lower the price a bit :)
