Is being said that he's stepping down to save Lewis' reputation.
They are just talking about this subject on BBC1 over here, but they didn't mention about Ron Dennis actually stepping down. They did mention that McLaren are trying hard to appease Lewis and Anthony Hamilton though.
Just seen a bit more. One newspaper is saying that Ron Dennis is going to 'scale down' his role at McLaren whilst another newspaper is saying that he is 'going to' quit.
On Radio 1 they said it is so McLaren can avoid punishment in 'liargate'. Now correct me if I'm wrong but Ron wasn't involved in that in any way?
According to Autosport he "had a notable presence in the garage during the Australian Grand Prix". "Noteable" in the sense he was simply there, or "noteable" in the sense he was involved?Quote:

Sounds like spin to me. "I'm stepping down to save the team" = "I was going to stop going to races anyway"
Anyone who reads motoring magazines will know Mac are about to embark on building at least 2 new road cars, the division which Dennis is heading up so I imagine its partly to appease certain factions but more to do with the new job and finally letting go of the F1 team.
Max wants Ron gone. Probably Ron was the man who exposed his hidden side. This is the revenge. I know that it is a bit far-fetched, but that's my guess.
Well there does seem to be a vendetta against McLaren recently, so that would stack up!
