With only two weeks before the series starts...here is a practice Rd for potential entrants to have a go.....we will have a Qualifying Session first..until Monday..then I will release the race details:

Qualifying Details:
Track: Hidden Valley
Mode: Time Trial...PRO-SIM
Settings: Free Settings
Times: Post your times on this thread...you can post as many times as you like until Monday 8pm.

I switched back to the Holdens, as the rear view is much better for me.

1m.01.42 Fast Lap. Only 5 laps I have taken on this course, ever. Was the lazy guy who bought the cheats to this series.

Looks like it could be very competitive...can anyone break the 1m barrier..I think its possible...throttle control is so important here..I will have another session later.

Some adjustments to gearing and suspension finally enabled me to break that 1 minute barrier... you don't need to switch back to a Holden to do it, Peter lol

BobZee takes out pole for the practice Rd at Hidden Valley..well done Bob! It's a real shame only 4 drivers turned up....if we don't get at least 6 entrants for Rd1, I will not run the V8 series...shame if that happens...but I know that Vuko Jnr will be in & Muz has assured me he will be competing..& Piotr B has confirmed an entry...so hopefully it will run!

I did a the race..but i'm going to be no where near the front. my fastest lap wa in the high 1:02's. Probably because i spent most of the time going sideways round the corners. Great fun to do..especially the first and last corner..but not exactly the quickest way round the circuit..

8:44 to do the race.

I'm not bothered about posting my time public..everyones going to beat it anyway ;)

I'm looking doubtful to be honest. At the moment, I'm so snowed under with work and my new dog that I haven't gotten near the PS2. My new G25 has seen 30 minutes action in 3 weeks!

If you need extensions guys...that's OK..it's only a practice Rd....the real V8's start next weekend at Adelaide.....we will start on Monday...at Adelaide...details will go up this weekend...I'm not going to issue a calendar this year...I will surprise you each Rd........this year their won't be a separate Qualifying period...you will submit your qualifying time with your O/T & F/L. There will be no pts for qualifying this series.

Extension until Friday evening for the practice Rd......I have only 3 times so far......I hope interest picks up for Rd 1 next week......there won't be many comps going after the Gt's finish ...so get involved guys!!!!

man, I tell you this much. I can't repeat my 1m.00.88s.

I keep messing up at that first u-turn. can't hit it like I did in that lap.

just call me a one-lap-wonder. or a one-lap-notsowonder maybe.

I'm finding the same thing Johnny....I'm much faster in qualifying than in the race...must be the fuel load & slightly harder tyres...makes the car harder to balance.

got my races in last night. had a blast. I got my car so perfectly balanced its just a joy to drive. the car turns in by itself under braking, holds its line nicely through the middle of the corner, then I can steer it with the throttle coming out of the corner. exiting the corners the tail end comes out nicely under control & predictably.

and I blew away the field this time, on hard.... haven't been able to do that before.

I'm guessing the ai is just really slow here. seems like they brake too early.

spun out my first try by myself, all on my own. got a clearn run in the second try though.
