May I be as bold to ask why my link to a site about fit women (Chickipedia) was deleted and also it says 'deleted by' but no name to then PM hence why this post is in here, rather than a direct PM?

The site in question ( Chickipedia ) isn't my site I don't make any money from it, it isn't a porno site just lots of pics of good looking women, that requires more adding so where is the harm in that?

I deleted that thread because you advertised/posted a web-site which wasn't suitable for a Family Forum...

Thanks for the replies

So if I do a search for .com no websites will come back, err you sure?

One says no websites, other one says no websites that are unsuitable, which is it?

Looked suitable to me (no smut, there's a link I'm looking at right now for Paul Chapman Pictures - looks v similar in terms of pics of the ladies).

But why not add your name pino to the 'deleted by' bit?

That was really my point.

I didn't add my name, because when deleting a thread, we don't get such a line to fill.

What is seen as advertising then? Do you have any guidelines for it? For example if I post a link to "my pictures from Monte Carlo rally" and it takes you to another motorsport site including my pics is that seen as advertising? Not challenging your policy just intrested to know what are the rules/limits for this?

Would it not be a good idea, so the author of the offending thread can take it up with whoever deleted it?

You must have been looking at certain types of ladies on that site, only found a few naked pics and they were all porno stars / topless models !!

It is somewhat open to interpretation, pictures strictly speaking are not allowed but are tollerated at the moderators discretion.

Everything else is a matter of degree e.g

I've just read that Max Mosley has been elected pope! It said so at http://www.f1-lies.com/

That would probably be permissable.
But,

http://www.f1-lies.com/ is the best site on the internet! Check it out!

Would certainly not be!

So basically, unless one suffers from retardation, the no-advertisment rule can easily be manipulated?

Mark

Well I'd say unless the moderator suffers from retardation it's fairly easy to spot a deliberate advert.

But you said one thing the other chap said another, the site I posted wasn't an advert in any way or form, was it?

Of course it was you were advertising the site!

MrJan

Then how come people can advertise sites in their sigs? Just seems that it's a bit selective as to what sites are allowed to get through and what ones aren't

Mark
8th February 2008, 11:33
Because sig adverts are allowed.

Hardly, advertsising involves money, if I say go and have a look here there is a great bit of rally/race footage and that footage has nothing to do with me then it's not advertising is it?

Mark

Advertising need not involve money.

your rally footage may well be allowed tho, at the descretion of the moderator but it is up to them there is no absolute forum wide policy on that other than advertising is not allowed.
