I expect the 4 Hendrick Chevrolets will line-up against the 3 Roush Fords against ...
the 2 DEI Chevrolets against the 2 Penske Dodges against the 2 Gibbs Toyotas ...
I won't be surprised to see team-mates working together.

I think Dale will now have confidence in his equipment and sweep daytona races.

Is Dale doing the 300 this year?

W/O seeing the replay yet...I'd assume Smoke was equally to blame.

I hope they DON'T put them on probation. Both of them race so much better when they are on probation! ;-)

Tony was no angel himself, but there's no excuse to repeatedly hit some guy's car while comming to pit road.

tstran17_88
9th February 2008, 15:11
Well, I finally saw the replay. Yes, my hunch was right. Tony started it, as per usual. I agree that Kurt was over the top retaliating, but it’s not like Tony wouldn’t have done the same thing. He does have a history of it.

The car looks perfect now. They do have a lot of experience fixing sheet metal though with Tony as their driver! :D

9th February 2008, 15:20
I agree with Larry MaAc, it's not fair on the guys in the garage.

If Kurt has a gripe, take it out on Tony, not the car. Hmm, that aint gonna happen is it? :D

Bob Dilner just mentioned during the meeting in the Nascar hauler last night that Tony allegedly through a punch at Kurt. Bob said the Jim Hunter would not comment on what happened inside the meeting. Nascar had them both come back to the hauler this morning for another meeting and it was a lot more cordial between everyone involved.

Interesting to see if anything will be done to either of them now.

it may not be fair to the guys in the garage, but hopefully they will get tired of the all night repairs and pressure their driver into not being such an arse behind the wheel.

Tony doesn't start anything, its always the other guy.

just like when he wrecked Hamlin at Daytona in July and told Denny it was his fault,

Sparky1329
9th February 2008, 21:22
The wreck looked like six of one and a half dozen of the other. I'll be shocked if NASCAR doesn't have a few penalties to hand out for the stuff that followed the wreck.

At least there was no crew guys around this time.

There was one guy trying to sort out traffic on pit road. I was afraid he might get hit in the fray.

Hamlin got off the gas exiting a turn at Daytona. For what reason would a sane person do such a thing?

7 drivers will go to the rear of the field prior to the start of tonight's Budweiser Shootout

Dale Jarrett for making an engine change prior to the race

With HMS' top tier equipment Dale Jr should have a good 2008 season.

Which I think owes a lot to JGR. TRD didn't have a clue how to build a cup motor.

well considering that the cars are now only by different engines, Toyota should get the one up considering the money they put into every program they are in.

Sure they did. Most of the mid range HP problems were solved by May, they didn't start getting help from "former Gibbs" motor employees until fall.

I don't believe Toyota's new found power has a lot to do with JGR ...
Michael starts outside front row & he doesn't have a JGR engine ... http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif
Toyota worked hard last year & the fruits of their labors are now showing ...
JGR may have given some input but I think TOYOTA did the real work.

Plus a big factor is the COT, it makes the car bodies really close to equal ...
the COT probably was likely very key to Toyota becoming more competitive. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

I've always liked the looks of the COT.
I think the cars look really fast with their nose to the ground & that big wing in back. :D
The cars are definately more stable & seem easier to regain control of after a slip. :D

Now a big slide is still hard to catch but at the speeds they are running
no driver can get a car back once it is too far out of shape.
