I was at Donington last year in the pouring rain. Onslow Cole was one of the few who made the most of the conditions. Was even more impressed with him and Plato after that.

Still, hopefully hometown hero Colin Turkington can do well this year :D

That makes up a really strong team. Having three cars should certainly give Vauxhall an advantage over SEAT in the manufacturers' championship.

I wonder if they will run him in the gold livery?
I hope SEAT and WSR respond and use a third car.

Aww I hate 3 car teams. Just dosen't seem right to me. :( It'll give them an unfair advantage in manufacturers champ.

No it doesn't. It's perfectly fair and shouldn't give them a big advantage in the Manufacturers' or Teams' Championships as only two cars can score points.

It means there's a greater chance of two Vauxhalls finishing a race, though. Nothing unfair about it, of course, as anybody can run two cars if they want and are able.

But as only two cars can score the points (and these are nominated after qualifying), don't both teams have two cars for scoring points really?

Who is to say Tom will score loads of points and win loads of races anyway?

Just how close exactly, particularly in terms of pace and total consistency, is the Independent beemers of Team RAC/WSR to VXR's Vectras?

I know that Tom will be undergoing test sessions soon to adapt to the pace and handling but I know for a fact testing is done alone. It is my opinion that having other drivers around you vying for the same place makes things different. Will Tom, having aclimatised himself to the pace and handling be able to take such a fast and competitive car to race wins consistently?

Ah, I wasn't aware of that particular rule. Thanks for clarifying!

Surely though, regardless of the times he will be nominated for points, if at all, it will still be interesting though won't it to see how he does of doing a much better job in a much better car that last season, and finding out whether or not he is capable of scoring points on a consistent enough basis, whether theirs a ressponsibility on him to collect point or not?

I think though he unquestionably has potential he is inexperienced in terms of time in such a strong factory car. I have never known him to race with a factory team. Ian (Harrison) I still think is taking a minor gamble using him.

I think Ian is being handed a nice pile of green stuff to run TOC, so he's not taking any great risks really.

Do you mean money? I take it you don't mean spinach.

Who do you think handed Ian the money to run TOC? An agent of some kind? Someone from WSR? A friend?

It's all very Inspector Cluseau that to me y'know. I am expecting to find a top Cuban crime lord at the heart of it all.

Daft post SeatFreak!

Tom Onslow-Cole's drive is paid for by his dad.
He paid for his drive at WSR and is now paying for his drive at VXR. No great mystery!
And as far as i am aware Tom's dad is not a cuban crime lord!

News to me. I didn't know that. If me not knowing something really is such a crime to you could always ask Mark to ban me.

In the manufacturers title it is the two nominated cars after qualifying that score points, in the team title it is the first two cars that cross the line. So Tom can scoreteam points every race and manufacturers when nominated.

Not really, SEATFreak. I just think tdb, like so many others, gets extremely frustrated when you express ignorance over things which are generally known or can be found out about on these forums. I do wonder myself how much of the posts you actually read and take notice of....
