That made I laugh. Abo I think you have just found the new lunch time display at Rockingham all Mechanics and spotters hanging off there pickups like that. I can't do it though go a dodgy knee and ankle and foot and any thing else I can think of....

I bet those sandals got a bit warm! :hot:

Imagine doing that on British roads: you'd break both ankles in the potholes after 10 yards.

Wanna try it on Fletton Parkway when they finish resurfacing it?

I wonder what would happen to the person if the door snapped off on the right rear when he's hanging his head out? :P Would NOT be a nice thing to see......

They way they're getting on with the Parkway at the moment I will be doing it in my Zimmer Frame! Fed up of 'cone running' every morning....

FP does however have the best two bends for motoring round IMHO - the wonderful sweeping curve coming off the A1 Northbound and the left hander near Stanground which someone told me you could take flat out, but I've never had the guts to try. So there is a positive to Peterborough after all!

Flat out in a chunky chicken with wider wheels on maybe, I wouldn't try it in my Merc and certainly not in the old Audi I had. 140 mph, no thank you, I'd probably end up wedged in Aldi's roof!

I know someone who tried in a 3 Series & ended up buried in the barrier, facing the oncoming traffic. Oops!

Must be an urban myth then!

I prefer the run from Oundle to Weldon, especially between the Benefields. May not be flat out, but a good little stint anyway. (I've done Rockingham - Oundle in 9 mins once.)
I'm sure you Peterborough guys know the road, if not, try it, you'll never want to go the A43 way again, even though there are villages that you have to slow down for, (which I did even on that quick run).

Or he bottled it & lifted!

Since they reprofiled the road, there's also a nasty bump which unweights the car & catches the unwary.

The Wansford to Kings Cliffe road is good too. Almost exactly the same distance as the A47/A43 route but soooo much more fun!

I enjoy the Uppingham to Corby road-well, until I get to that village with the traffic lights (can't remember its name). Changes in elevation and a lot of bends you can take "the racing line" . Favorite one is the double apex where you can see the reservoir on the left. Trickiest one is the next downhill left hander that goes off camber.

Not at around 4am in the winter when it's icy/foggy with a van half full of papers it isn't.
