My girlfriends 1994 Subaru Legacy Turbo goes like the proverbial or at least it would if it was mine and I wasn't scared of bending it! Oh and the £700 excess that I have on the insurance policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A big change from my 1977 Peugeot 504 which on a good day probably had about 80bhp.

Hehe, still in good company, then. ;)

I still have the 1977 260Z 2+2, which is awaiting the paintjob. But also in my stable is a 1975 example, more of which is found on the previous owner's restoration website.

Do Y'all have a Miata series too ?

:D This past summer, a couple of Grand Am teams rented 4 or 5 Spec Miatas ( shared by ~ 10 drivers) for a weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. They were very quick in the twisties & those Grand Am drivers made us work to get by !

He has a 2003 Toyota Celica 1.8VVT with 140bhp. It has the optional rear spoiler and 17" alloy wheels.

Down at Collie. Great little track actually. We had a great cross section of cars ranging from stock WRXs through to a 996 Turbo. What an awesome car that is.

Great way to learn about your car and yourself as a driver. For example I learnt that my car is way better than I am!

Tonight's track night is at Barbagello. Should be fun.

I'm planning on competing in a few motorkhanas/hillclimbs that sort of thing. Don't really have the means or in all honesty the desire to do much more than that at the moment.

Yes I've heard the track at Collie isn't bad at all :)

At least my car never made me feel that it's better than I am :D I'm currently a little scared of driving Caroline's Legacy around on smaller roads because it always feels somewhat like you've got your foot about an inch away from stepping on a landmine :p

Seems to be the thing to do (to get them from Italy)

A guy in Australia who had an Evo II got his from Sicily. Apparently it had been sitting in a barn for a good 5 years on axle stands because the owner was in prison. From what I've heard of Italy this is perfectly believable!

Yer I haven’t got much into the local Mitsubishi scene as there is basically none, most evo owners are older and not interested in cruises or anything like that, I have meet some younger people down my way (live in Mandurah) that have evo's are stuff which is nice.

I found the 2001 Clio I had handled like it was on rails. Very easy to chuck into a corner at speed. Never been as confident as that in the Ibizas, whether it was the petrol or the TDi. Mind you it might have something to do with the crap brakes and the increase in BHP!

Ha...yeah good eyes Daniel. You are correct on both guesses. I would have waited for better light up at the Pinnacles, but I was low on fuel and there was only one place on the way back that sold 98RON and I was frightened they'd close before I got back. So harsh, middle of the day lighting for me I'm afraid.

Interesting place. I'd never been there before. I'll have to go back and get some decent shots of the place sometime. Happy Xmas by the way. Did you get snow?

Daniel

Pic looks good as it is tbh :)

No snow sadly. Probably won't have snow for at least another month :( Pity because I'm on the insurance for my g/f's Legacy RS till the 4th of august and wanted to see what 4wd was like on snow and ice :p Ah well! It's quite balmy here sometimes even for someone from Perth!!!!!

Well the part of Wales I'm living in doesn't generally get much snow :) Very close to the sea so when there is snow it's gone fairly quickly I'm told :(

Yes. 206's are woefully bad cars. A friend of mine from Oz who did a bit of rallying had one as a hire car and said it cornered on it's door handles. Which basically matches what a lot of motoring journalists say. Have you seen the new Clio Sport? :facelick:

Im absolutely disgusted I have no pictures of my 3 previous cars. Oh well. First was a Mk2 Ford Escort, ran pretty well until the gearbox failed. Scrapped it. Second was a Peugeot 309 GTI, that was a beast, leather trim on the seats, the lot, lovely car. Again it died so scrapped it. Third was a Vauxhall Corsa, 2nd generation. Was also a lovely little car, ended up sticking some alloys on it that were worth more than the car itself but it looked great. Ran it into the ground until 5 months ago the engine blew up, literally.

Cant figure out how to do pics, so my current car is a Ford Mondeo, 1.8 GLX, 80k miles on the clock when I bought it for £1,400 a couple of months ago. Put the Zetec alloys on afterwards, which I got for free. As you can see Ive also added some 'authentic rally effect mud splashes' along the side. Those were also free

Currently it has a 2.0 pinto which is quite fun. However, I'm constantly on the look out for a Cosworth top end that bolts straight on to the Pinto block.

I'll probably drive this one for a year or so and then want to build something a bit more radical. My friend has just bought a 348 so I'm gonna p!ss all over him on the twisties and probably acceleration to 80 mph but my past time is annialating Ferrari's so may go a bit more exotic with the next project ;)

Different models of the Cosworth engine, YBT and earlier are the ones with the flat cam covers. the YBP was the last based on that design, it supposedly has better oil galleries. It has a 'silver' cam cover with a central black peice of plastic that covers the coil packs and spark plug leads. The YBTs are commonly refered to as the the 'big' turbo engines (hybrid Garrett T3/T04 turbo) with Weber Marelli computer, the YBPs ran a smaller turbo (T25) and EEC-IV computer which is very hard to modify.

Focus Zetec, depending on what model your talking about though, Focus mk1? 99-04? or new shape mk2 Focus, 04 -?

Anyway, i have driven a few of the mk1 Focus's and they dont half handle well, whatever engine you try, i have tested the 1.8TDCI and the 1.8 petrol before, the Diesel was very impressive and better than the petrol version (in my opinion), however i didnt buy either in the end, but i did think about it. The only thing i dont like with the first focus was the dash and interior plastics, they were a bit naff.

Not my car, but same colour and exactly the same shape.

I dont have that car anymore, it turned out to be a bit of a dog in the end, alot of electrical problems, even a bent alloy, after a good deal of cash trying to sort out different problems i cut my losses and went all sensible again. I bought a 2004 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI, 18 months down the line and its been a good car.

Don

great drive...

Speaking of legend, series 2, 7, and 9 are models which represent revolution of Volvo, the newer types are fine because they are new that usually give less trouble to the owner.

A pity if you sold the 242 off. To change the headlight of series 2 with american looks, short and long of each headlight is separated in different reflector, is an awesome option.

I was in a Prius about a month ago, the sense of smugness from the driver was overwhelming :mark: We went past their home and they had a Civic hybrid as well and explained about why they were so good and so on and so forth :dozey:

Wow, I posted on this thread a long time ago. Since using me Ma's 106 I bought my brother's Civic off him and had that for nearly 2 years, then got itchy feet and bought an MR2 at the start of the year.

As winston churchill said talk is cheap, action dear.....

amazing what ed drugs can do....

anyway i drive an 2000 (but bought in early 99), 4x4, f250/350 as my fav everyday car (i do not know which it is, as it came from the factory with a badge on one side that said 350 and after a couple of years, i noticed the badge on the udder side said 250) Got the last great and only diesel engine worth having from ford, the old simple 7.3 that will run 500k miles, need some rings, and she will do another 500k miles....

diesel, of course as too often when stuck in traffick, the slow idle and torgue, plus sitting above it all, makes it more fun or suvivable....... the other fav is an r6 as in 600, with most of the lower body work removed.

then there is the usual boring collection of mercedes and ferraris

There are massive floods all around and a man is trapped on his roof unable to escape.
A boat comes along and the man onboard shouts "Jump on board mate!"
"No, no. I have faith in the lord he will protect me"

Some time later the RAF send out a helicopter but he refuses to be winched up. "No, I have faith in the lord he will protect me"

The waters then rise further and the man drowns.

On getting to heaven he asks god "I had faith in you, but you didn't save me, why?" God replies : "I sent you a boat and I sent you a helicopter, what else did you want from me?!"

Regretfully selling my 260Z after 3 years of (mostly) happy motoring. Will try and catch hold of a 351ci XD Falcon now, something I should have done the last time I was in the market for a used automobile. Somehow a four cylinder Volvo didn't quite meet those expectations.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go help with the evacuation of my suburb, as I opened the door of the Daewoo bubble of fail and let out all sorts of biological toxins and mould spores that have materialised in the last three months since I last opened it. I have to say, it's an improvement on the OEM plastic interior colour, don't fancy a commute in the Hazmat suit though.

Thought I'd post a picture of my little Fiesta ST taken a while ago in the Langdale valley in the Lake District. It's performace blue and has full racing stripes, not that you can tell from this particular picture. It's three years old next month, just had its 50K service and a full set of new tyres. :)

I didn't buy it for its performance because everything in its class is faster, I certainly didn't buy its for its fuel consumption, and I didn't buy it on the presumption that it would be reliabile (for which the most part it has been). I just bought it because I quite liked the look of it and got a really good deal.

Ammended for accuracy ;) :p :

Well I've only needed help 3 times.

One time the exhaust on my 406 rusted through and I had to be recovered. Completely my fault for not getting the exhaust replaced.

http://members.iinet.net.au/~fenix1983/Files/26092008053.jpg

One time a wire broke off the starter motor on my 504 which for a car which was 25 years old so you can't blame the car.

... and the final time was when I locked my keys in the car, thankfully the 504 is rather easy to break into.

2 of those things were my fault and the other one could happen to any car that is that age ;)

Ah, a VAGroup man - my last car was a Seat Ibiza Cupra, had it for over 10 years from new, now have a Skoda Fabia vRS SE. No major complaints with either.
I'm not sure whether Audi's are as cracked up to be as they once were - only from what I've read and been told.

In North America, we never got to see the 5-door 323 Type F. I really liked its styling, though I know nothing of its performance.
AE86? Anniversary Edition RX-7? Those were nice cars!

AE86 is a coupe Toyota. it has front hidden pop-up headlamp like 323F's
