I'd like to say that I love rain but on sim the car handles almost the same as on dry.

So tannat I don't need to send you my qualifying time because this time we drive on rain?

I think tyre wear will be a big issue this time. I have not pitted in the previous races, but I think I will have to here.

bummer - pitting really cost a lot of time. I was hoping the rain would help tire wear...guess not.

hitting the curbs really kills the tires.... be sure not to touch them at all...it really helps

Just realised I cheated for the above time....I had the track set to sunny instead of rain...sorry guys......I have improved my time slightly but I am still just behind RobZee....It proves that the cars are a little slower in the rain!

Bit of understeer in the vette, JS? :D

Rules are rules...

Take a look at the big picture, back off a bit, take 'legal' lines and see how much it hurts you, and whether or not it will severely affect your placing in the race...

johnny shell

I won't break the rules :(

I ran wide a few times & thought about giving myself a penality (most likely a stop-and-go), since I'm both the marshall and the driver, but I ended up not finishing that race anyway due to tires.

well, today would be a good day for a CT2 car to beat a CT1 car! I tell you that much!

I ran way off my qualifying pace. had fun though. just didn't push as hard as I should have I guess.

that rain must've spooked me. must've been listening to the F1 guys too much!

Tire hardness was limited to .2 for the race Harvick...

Do you mean downforce at 140%?

I used .20 and 150% (both F/R) for the race, barely even getting 9 laps out fo each set

The rain made not so much difference in the qualifyign hierarchy. Piotr B again taking pole in the TVR. Good showing by Peter Vuko for outside pole followed by Hollydog in the Corvette.

In Category 2 Harvick again sweeps class pole from Tannat, who struggled with a reluctant Ultima for the entire weekend...... :(

The rain at Hockenheim shuffled the finishing order mildly from Laguna Seca. Winning again was the TVR of PiotrB, finishing nearly 4 seconds ahead of Peter Vuko. RobZee takes third, and receives special mention for completing the race with no pit stops

Hollydog takes 4th in the Corvette finishing just over 5 seconds ahead of the younger Vuko in a TVR.

Harvick showed Tannat the way home by 10 seconds in Category 2 in what was a troublesome weekend for Tannat ("The #$%^@ wouldn't turn in!!!!")

Nice one RobZee but I think that you used 150% tyre profile because my 0.20 tyres with 50/50 profile were almost red after 9 laps (I made a pit stop once). And every contact with grass is deadly for tyres.

RobZee
8th January 2008, 21:34
I stayed off the grass and ripple strips to try to conserve my tyres and avoid a pitstop, but this strategy proved to be flawed as my lap times increased markedly from about lap 12.
Well done Piotr and PV!

I would propose that tannat smoked the wacky tabackee before posting the results today :D

oh yeah, and I don't see how .20 tires could make it 18 laps either. I thought about trying but when I saw what they were like at 9 laps I didn't bother.

wish I would have tried though... considering I have a tendacy to finish last in class I need to try extreme strategies

but having harv nipping at my heals every round keeps me somewhat in line

Another good win to Piotr...but I'm getting closer to him....I don't know how RobZee got through without a pit stop...I'm surprised the tyres didn't blow out...he must have driven very conservatively...but the pit stop did take up 35-40secs...
