For PWRC 2008 it is thread. So I think we can do this also to JWRC.Next year championship will be without Suzuki team.Only privateers.Andersson and Aava turned to WRC.Rautenbach also.So who left and who will join this championship? Will Sandel run with Clio R3?And Molder with Suzuki? And fast Polish drivers, what is Prokop's plans?Beres? And Fiesta ST winner Billy Clark will run in JWRC?

I know that Vilius Rožukas will compete in next season.I don't know with wich one car,but he will run.And it is a rumour that another Lithuanian driver Dominykas Butvilas will run in JWRC with Citroen.

So if you know something about drivers plans.Share this info with everybodie. :)

Yes, Prokop continues in JRC, he said he would do also some rallys with N4 Mitsubishi (maybe 6).

I don't know about Beres but he will probably continue too.

Jaan Mölder drives again in a factory Suzuki Swift S1600.
Source: his codriver Frédéric Miclotte.

Gilles Schammel from Luxembourg has plans to drive with a Renault Clio R3 in the JWRC, but this are only rumours.

But isn't Fred Miclotte codriver of Bernd casier ???

If yes it looks like Casier won't have a drive for 2008(in IRC or elsewhere) :(

Karbonyl

Tom206wrc: I don't think it should be problem for Miclotte to run in both championships, only colission is in the beginning of August, when Madeira and Finland held.

Frédéric Miclotte had a busy year and 2008 will be the same. Miclotte was also the codriver from Luca Betti in the Safari Rally 2007 and for Burçu Cetinkaya in Wales Rally GB 2007. He did this year also the 'Eurobus Rally Rožňava' (6th overall) and the 'Aquacity Carbon Neutral Rally' (8th overall) with Jaan Mölder, round 3 and 4 of the Slovakian Rally Championship.

As you also know, he did IRC rallies (Ypres, Madeira, Barum and Valais) and the Condroz Rally. As preparation for the IRC 2007, Bernd Casier and Frédéric Miclotte drove the '12 hours of Wervik', a regional rally in Belgium.

If Bernd Casier will be the teammate from Loix next year, he has a contract for 2008 too, than Miclotte should be also his codriver in the IRC. As Karbonyl told, there is only a problem for Madeira.

Sébastien Ogier won the 'Rally Neige Hautes-Alpes' with a Peugeot 206 XS, a much smaller car than his opponents.
He is very talented and I am curious what he can do in the JWRC.

Now I am proud to let you know Netherlands will be a rally country. (I hope) :D

Former N4 drivers -in Dutch and WRC rallies- Hans Weijs jr and Kevin Abbring compete in JWRC this year.
Weijs jr will drive in a Citroen C2 R2 MAX and Abbring does the rallies in Renault Clio R3.

The goal for the Citroen driver is finished by the first 3 in the championship.
(I think its a little to high in his first JWRC year, although he drives in N4 a lot of WRC rallies last year.)
Abbring is in a learning year. He learn and hopefully he can score some points.

Both will supported by KNAF (Dutch racing organisation) and NOC/NSF (Olympic Comity of the Netherlands/Dutch Sport Federation.

I am happy our Sport Federation want invest in rally. :bounce:

The car last year in Germany:

It's the first time a Dutch team has entered one of the "supporting" championships in the WRC. After last year's relatively successful participation of Jasper van den Heuvel and Hans Weijs jr. in several WRC rounds with the Group N Lancers, KNAF and NOC/NSF are giving a great opportunity to two very young and talented Dutch drivers. Weijs jr. has gained a lot of experience last year and should be able to do well (although a top 3 Championship finish sounds rather ambitious to me, a top 3 JRC finish on any rally would be a big achievement in my opinion). And Kevin Abbring has shown in hist first season in Dutch rallies that he is fast, this is an excellent chance to learn about rallying at the highest level.

Polish driver Michal Kosciuszko (19 in 2006, 12 in 2007) will probably continue JWRC program this year in ex-manufacturer Suzuki Swift S1600. It's nothing official though. He will also take part in Polish Rally Championship in Fiat Punto S2000.

And fast Polish drivers,what is Prokop's plans?Beres?

Prokop is from Czech, and Beres Jr. from Slovakia.

Most likely Hans Weijs Jr. with #44 and Kevin Abbring with #45. Cars are confirmed to be C2 R2 MAX for Weijs Jr. and Clio R3 for Abbring.

Weijs has planned a test with the Citroen C2 R2 Max with Simon Jean Joseph. These French driver won last year the European Championship title with the same car. The test is scheduled at 21 February.

Pics of the C2 and interview/info in Dutch can found here:

Debut of the car will be in Tank S Rally Emmeloord (Dutch Rally Championship).
He drives the car in Jordan as start for JWRC campaign. I will be there. Hopefully I can see him (on the podium).

Vilius Rožukas will run in JWRC with C2 S1600.Good choise I think. He can race with all other cars. Also good that he had not chosen C2 R2 because he would be much slower.

Taken from WRC.com season intro of JWRC

The cars
The FIA Junior World Rally Championship is the world's premier motorsport category for B-Segment cars - the category often described as the 'hot hatchbacks'. All cars in the J-WRC are front wheel drive and have a total length of 3600 - 4150 mm.
Eligible cars must be homologated in one of four technical classes defined by the FIA:
1 - Super 1600 (engine capacity less than 1600cc)
2 - Group N cars (engine capacity of less than 2000cc)
3 - Selected Group A cars (engine capacity of less than 2000cc)
4 - Group R cars

2006 was the first time that cars from Group A and Group N were eligible for the FIA J-WRC. Although it can be expected that Super 1600 cars will battle for overall glory, Group A and N cars are the only cars eligible for the Rookie Award.

Anyone that know what cars have been selected for point 3: Selected Gr A cars ?
