Target Drivers Scott Dixon, Dan Wheldon, and Reed Sorenson were in town yesterday visiting the kids at St. Jude's childrens hospital here in Memphis.
If anyone out there is ever looking for a worthwhile charity, this is definitely one. ST. Jude's was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas and is named for the patron saint of hopeless cases. They do research into pediatric cancer and other devastating childhood diseases.
Literally, a child in a remote village in Timbuktu could be diagnosed today and be on a plane to Memphis the next day with their entire family if it is a disease that they are researching, and they never have to pay even a single cent. It's all taken care of by donations.
Target generously provides long term (over 90 days) housing free of charge to the families of the patients in it's two Target Houses.
Something to think about this Christmas Season. :)
