I will regret it in 3 months, don't you worry :p

Same thing happened with my Macbook, the kickass PC I could of built instead. This takes the biscuit. But it's so shiny :(

All I want for Christmas is ...

Some decent 2.1 speakers, so I can play my music louder and annoy my mum!

My PC is only slightly under that spec, i.e. 22" instead of 24" and 2.3Ghz instead of 2.8 yet it cost £1,200 less.

You'll regret it in January/February when Intel release faster processors. You'll also regret the slow RAM that they're selling you and so on. You won't be able to upgrade the Mac either. But your money. I could buy two non-Mac's with as good or better spec for that price though......

Daniel

If you want me to spec up a PC for the same price and build it and charge you 1000 quid on top of that for making it shiny and putting an Apple badge on I'll be more than happy to take your money :)

Come January you could easily build a good looking PC with quality parts which is better than that in every way with 4gb of RAM for about a grand tops :) But I guess an Apple badge is expensive. They are solid gold right? :)

I am gonna get a HD Ready 19" or 20" flatscreen Digital TV with integrated DVD player for my study from either Fenwicks or from just over the Eldon Square precinct in John Lewis.

I remain confident when me and my mum do our Christmas shopping soon theirs will new new models but don't know what type to buy.

Well first of all I wouldn't get it from Fenwicks or Bainbridge's, they'll charge you an arm and a leg!

Go online and see what web deals you can get from the likes of Comet etc.

20" is pretty small, but it depends on the application I guess.

I haven't asked for anything specific really this year... just lots of little bits and bobs that I don't want to have to buy for myself. I would love a nice warm coat though...

Now, all I want for Christmas is the Logitech Driving Force Pro steering wheel. I'll finally be a proper racing driver, like Lewis Hamilton! :p :

All I really want is a couple days of peace and some food. I'm easy.

As far as PCs go, no matter when you buy it will be cheaper later. I've got a 486 processor on my desk I use as a paperweight. At the time I purchased the system that processor was somewhere around $350 of the cost. Being the power maniac I was at the time I got the biggest memory option, which was 4 megs. (Yes megs, not gigs) Combined with the absolute monster 80 meg hard drive, everyone told me I was over buying.

Months later I upgraded to 8 megs of memory total, for a cost of approximately $175, a great deal. It was good that I saved money, as the 425 meg hard drive set me back $340 plus taxes.

Another horse.
Want to start riding again but my hunter pony is starting to feel his high mileage and the other ones are either out on loan or too small for me now :(

As a horse isn't easy to wrap, I guess I'll ask for something more sensible. Then 'im indoors will get me something pretty much the wrong size/colour/material/shape/quality and/or starring all the wrong actors :mark:

After the holiday period I'll be starting a Swap Shop thread for presents :p :

 Aw, you spoil sport!
Next you'll be telling me I can't make it drink :p :

What's everyone being asked to buy other people?
So far all we've had suggested as gifts by friends we buy for is assorted booze. One wanted Angelina Jolie, but I think that's a wish too far on my budget :mark:

The thing I really want isn't going to happen. It might, but not until late February... :(

In the meantime, I think Christmas is going to be a bit on the budget side, so I'm going to be looking for either Jeremy Clarkson's new book or Jackie Stewart's autobiography.

My head is thumping like a kettledrum with all that walking between John Lewis and Fenwicks! :bigcry:

Still I got my TV from John Lewis. :) It sadly ain't a Bravia and it is a 19" as their was no Bravias as small as a 19" (Only 20") and the price for the 20" TV's was a bit steeper than our price range at £449. But it is a Toshiba and we did get it for £299. Apparently their a god make.
